Rianda House Art Gallery Features “Garden Girls” by Jennifer & Anne Garden: Exhibit runs from Jan. 8 - Feb. 28. Artist Reception: Wednesday, Feb. 7, 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Artists Talk at 4:30 pm. Anne Garden: painter and printmaker & Jennifer Garden: letterpress printer Bluestocking Broadsides presents a group of five “posters,” a collaboration between the two sisters, Jennifer and Anne. Anne and Jennifer have created a series of limited-edition, signed and numbered silkscreen and letterpress broadsides of edible plants. Jen-nifer created and printed imaginative text with help on two broadsides by the local writer, Carrie Pickett. Anne created the imagery all exe-cuted in St. Helena at Jennifer’s Bluestocking Press. Also in this exhibit are Anne’s mixed-media pieces on the subject of Apis Mellifera, the honeybee. Anne uses prints, drawings, paint, and encaustic, a medium combining beeswax and varnish, to create layered imagery that she hopes will engage the viewer.
