1. GENERAL INFORMATION Hydraulic risi ng bollards are designed especially for high security vehicle entrances and f or locations that has to be cl osed for m otorized tra ffic on specific ti mes (like private roads, controlled parking areas, indu strial areas, shopping lanes, m arketplaces etc). Whenever a vehicle collision occurs; bollards will destroy the front suspension system, steering linkage and other parts of the drive system so the vehicle will move only a few more meters and will be inactivated. They can be installed as a single unit as well as in groups. Bollards are driven hydraulically and the hydraulic drive unit is placed in an installation cabinet close to the bollards. In case of power failure bollards can be lowered manually. Standard unit h as raised height of 60 cm but for spec ial requirements up to 90 cm lifted height can be manufactur ed. With th e help of plc/ microprocessor controlled electronics, raise/lower function c an be achieved by every kind of card re aders, biometric reader s li ke fingerprint or han d shape, radio control, on/off switch or keyswitch etc. Besides, safety accessories like l oop dedectors, photocells, flashing lights or red/green lights can be integrated to the control electronics very easily.

2. SYSTEM COMPONENTS 2.1 Construction

Drawing 1. Foundation Dimensions(HRB FLANGE) Lifting section of the bollard is manufactured from steel tube with a diameter of Ø350 mm and wall thickness of 36 mm . Roadway surface area i s covered by a removable heavy duty p late. The bollard and f oundation tube is moun ted into a rein forced concrete foundati on. This foundation has opening for l ead in cabl es and tubes. Bollard is designed to withstand 17 to ns of axle lo ad wh en lowered. In case of power failure at lifted position, bollard can be lowered manually. Parts forming the drive unit, namely, pi ston, piston rod, reservoir , solenoid or manual valves, etc. are very precisely manufactured so that th ey can stand the most h arsh environmental conditions. All the p arts are h ot dip galvanized (60µm) in order to pr event rustin g. In additi on, the par ts which stand above the ground level are electrostatically powder coated.

Foundation tube is th e construction that guides bo llard during raise/l ower action. The bottom flange of the hydraulic cylinder i s mounted in the tube therefore the tube has also a par t which hydraulic hoses pass through. The hydraulic connections can be reached through this r ectangular channel by removing top plate.

2.3 Electrical and Electronics Components

Control electr onics utilized in hydraulic rising bollard is PLC con trolled. Raise/lower func tion

can be achieved by every kind of card readers, biometric readers like fingerprint or hand shape, radio

control, on/off switches or key switches etc. Besides, safety accessories like inductive loop detectors,

photocells, fl ashing lights or red/green lights c an be integrated to c ontrol electronic s ver y easily.

Power requirement of the hydraulic rising bollard is 380 V 50~60 Hz

2. Connect the hoses coming from the h ydraulic cylinder with th e hydraulic sy stem in th e

cabinet.

3. If there i s a Red/Green Traffic Light in the Rising Bollard Sy stem, connect the electri c

power cable of the Red/Green Traffic Light to the terminal.

4. If there is a Loop Detector in the Rising Bollard System, connect the antenna cables of the

Loop dedector to the terminal.

5. If there are Radio control receiver, transmitter and antenn a in the Rising Bollard System ,

connect the electric power cable of it to the terminal.

6. If there are Safety photocell, stand and casing in the Rising Bollard System, connect the

electric power and data cables of Safety Photocell to the terminal.

7. If there is a Card Reader System in the Rising Bollard System, connect the electric power

and data cables of Card Reader System to the terminal.

8. Make sure the emergency stop buttons on the Cabinet Control Panel, Override Desktop

Panel and Guard House Desktop Panel (Picture 3 No: 3; ) are not pressed.

9. Initially, there will be no oil in the hy draulic sy stem, therefore fill the oil reservoir with

Shell Thellus 46 or equivalent. C onnect the m ono ph ase 2 20 VAC cabl es to th e

terminal.( Picture 5, No: 14-A)

4. MAINTENANCE Hydraulic Rising Bollard i s built entirely of steel components and all parts of b ody, drive unit,

bollard etc are hot dip galvanized (60µm) or epoxy co ated against cor rosion. Bollar d is als o permanently installed in a reinforced concrete foundation. Therefore, if bollard is maintained properly, it will work many years trouble free and give realiable service.

Oil Check Oil Used: Shell Tellus 46 First oil change to be made after 500 working hours, next changes to be made after every

5000 working hours.

Oil Leakage Check System to be eye-controlled for oil leakage once in every 3 months. Piston to be eye-controlled if there is any leakage once a year.

Maintenance Staff All system controls to be made by qualified technical staff only.

5. PRACTICAL TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES

If there is no movement observed after pressing auto raise/lower buttons; - Make sure emergency stop buttons (Picture 3, No:3) are not pressed. - Make sure main control switch on keyboard is on the proper position. - Make sure 220VAC mono phase is connected.

If there are unexpected behaviours in system, quickly stop the system by pressing emergency

stop button (Picture 3, No:3). If the system is not still running after all these controls please contact with the manufacturer.

6. HOW TO PUMP MANUALLY

Insert manual pump arm into the slot and pump manually (Figure 7).

Push the pressur e direction rod (Pic.6 No:4) to the right side of direction control

valve for rai sing and to th e left side of direction control valve for l owering (Pic.6

No:4) as shown in the picture.

Pump the system manually by hand as shown in the pictures.
