Welcome to the Riverside Charity Game 2016! For the second year in a row, two football teams will go head to head at the Riverside Stadium to raise money and awareness for a chosen charity. This year we are fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who are the only UK-wide charity dedicated to ghting for a life unlimited by cystic brosis (CF) for everyone a$ected by the condition. Last year's event was an enormous success and we were able to raise around £3000 through JustGiving donations, match day sponsorship, ticket sales and other charitable giving. All of which was donated to local cancer charity Zoe's Place baby hospice in Middlesbrough. Raising money through sporting events like these are fan-tastic opportunities for raising awareness and money for great causes; providing inspiration and support to those in need. Together we can make a dierence, one kick at a time. Thank you for your support

What is Cystic Fibrosis? Cystic brosis (CF) is a life-limiting inherited condition caused by a faulty gene that controls the movement of salt and water in and out of cells. This causes mucus to gather in the lungs and digestive system and creates a range of challenging symptoms.. More than 2.5 million people in the UK carry the faulty gene, around one in 25 of us – most without knowing. There is currently no cure for cystic brosis but many treatments are available to manage it, including physio-therapy, exercise, medication and nutrition. Each week ve babies are born with cystic brosis, and two people die. More than half of the cystic brosis population in the UK will live past 41, and improved care and treatments mean that a baby born today is expected to live even longer.

Research performed by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust Since the Trust began in 1964, they have funded research into every aspect of cystic brosis. They continually fund cutting-edge research and will continue until everyone with lives a life unlimited by the condition. Over the years, research funded by the Trust has made major contribu-tions to improvements in clinical care, which have signi-cantly increased life expectancy for people with cystic brosis. Cystic brosis a$ects many systems and organs in the body. By collaborating with national and international part-ners they can continue to increase our understanding of the condition and improve the treatments and techniques

Provide Orkambi treatment on the NHS for Cystic Fibrosis patients Orkambi is a drug that would be vital in the preservation in the lives of Cystic Fibrosis patients. It is currently not available to patients on the NHS, and deemed "not value for money" by NICE. Support the petition by visiting: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/126412

GRANT CATNATCH

GOALKEEPER Boro born and bred, former FC Phuket goal-

keeper Grant is as famous in Thailand as he is

on the streets of Middlesbrough. His legendary

goalkeeping is only surpassed by the fact that

he became the youngest Boro fan in living

history to utter the team’s name at only seven

months old. Grant is banned from Goals in

Middlesbrough after refusing to remove his

roller blades during a penalty shoot out.

PAUL WARRINER

DEFENDER Israel international ‘Wozza’ only recently re-

turned to action after an FA panel found he had

bet £10,000 on himself to be sent o$, score an

own goal and moonwalk o$ the eld during a

game with Rochdale. When he’s not being

banned for winning £4.5m, Wozza can be found

doing charcoal sketches of dead animals and

reciting 16th century Russian poetry.

BEN STURDY

DEFENDER Sturdy by name, Sturdy by nature, Ben recently

served the nal game of a world record 100-

match ban, after a waist high two footed tackle

on a referee in the car park after an FA Cup

match. Ben was described by Adrian Chiles as a

cross between John Terry, Bobby Moore and

Vin Diesel on speed, and he has promised to

score from at least 40 yards tonight.

KARL PHILPOTT

MIDFIELDER Former Yugoslavia captain Karl has come a

long way since he made his debut for Leicester

City as a 12-year old. After turning down a role

in Game of Thrones and to play for Chestereld,

he later signed for FC Seabrook on deadline

day before promptly disappearing to Ibiza for

two weeks to ‘clear his head’ in Pacha. A good

chance he will be sent o$ this evening.

STEVEN JOHN WILSON

DEFENDER Picked out by Alex Ferguson as ‘one to watch’

in 2003, Steve's progression in the professional

game was only halted by his passion for Chick-

en Jalfrezi and premium strength lager. After

failing to win Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, Ste

became a Tibetan monk shortly afterwards and

has not uttered a word since, apart from ‘EIO’

which doesn’t count.

ADAM CHILTON

DEFENDER Raised on the tough streets of West Lane,

Adam has earned himself a reputation as a

pacey, marauding wing back, with an eye for

goal. When he’s not tting garage doors or wine

tasting in the Shropshire countryside, he can

often be found partaking in a nice game of

lawn bowls or Ny shing at Hemlington Lake.

Adam served a short spell in Guantanamo Bay

in 2013 after a mix up at reception saw him and

Barry Syed do six months in orange jump suits.

STE DUNNE

DEFENDER When he’s not helping coordinate charity foot-

ball matches and writing colourful, yet com-

pletely inaccurate player proles, Ste can be

found outside the homes of the rich and fa-

mous, going through their garbage and observ-

ing them through night vision goggles. Survived

three assassination attempts in 2013, leading to

the release of his autobiography ‘Rusty Bullet

Hole’ (PuOn Books, 2014).

STEPHEN BELL

DEFENDER After leaving his job as a stunt car driver, Ste

now spends his team leading the line for FC

Seabrook and baking scones. Once tipped by

Pele as the person ‘I’d least like to drive me

anywhere’ , Stephen has backed himself to

score at least one overhead kick this evening.

BARRY SYED

FORWARD Convicted of trying to sell nuclear arms to

Afghan rebels in 2006, Barry has channelled his

energies into fundraising since, and his charity

games for the Bobby Robson Foundation have

earned thousands for good causes. Away from

arms pedalling and philanthropy, Barry is a die-

hard Boro fan and once o$ered his kidney to

legend Tony Mowbray, who politely declined at

an M62 service station.

FORMATION

4-4-2 COLIN DUCK

MIDFIELDER The only player tonight to make both the FIFA

hall of fame and Interpol’s Most Wanted list in

the same year, Colin will be trying to put an

injury-hit 2015 behind him, after losing three

ngers in a xylophone accident. Famous for his

goal celebration in which he beheads members

of the crowd with a pitch fork, Big Col will hope

to keep his head in front of goal tonight.

after a mix up at reception saw him and Barry

Syed do six months in orange jump suits.

LEE JEFFERSON

MIDFIELDER Another part of a dangerous trio for Seabrook

FC tonight, Lee has promised goals, goals and

more goals. If FC Mary's are going to win to-

night then they’ll need to keep him quiet, and

there’s a good chance he may be kidnapped

before kick o$ and locked in a large trunk in the

home dressing room.

MARCUS WOOD

MIDFIELDER Marky-mark Marcus, as he is probably nick-

named, will be looking to get on the end of a

few set pieces tonight. He has vowed to get

sent o$ for a two footed challenge on Adam

Chilton, even if they are on the same team.

Signed on deadline day from Afghan champi-

ons FC Steamboat for £111m Nando’s vouchers.

JAMIE GREEN

FORWARD Leeds based, danger man Jamie will be looking

to get among the goals tonight, after his recent

move from Methley United to Accrington Stan-

ley. Signed for a club record fee of £14.75, Ja-

mie has promised to strip naked and race to the

top tier of the North Stand if he scores tonight.

JOSH BYWATER

GOALKEEPER Josh always stands out on the pitch, but not for

his footballing skills. Growing up at the age of 12

Josh had every paper round in the Linthorpe

and Tollesby areas, which resulted in rapid

ageing. Away from football Joshua is a reman

(or so he says), so when he's not catching his

breath from one of the many wingers that Ny

past him, he's putting the re out on there boots

that left him for dead!

STEVEN BROWN

DEFENDER Steven is a model pro, dedicated on and o$ the

pitch. In his old job he picked up several pres-

tigious awards including shelf stacker of the

year for 3 consecutive years. On the pitch he is

best deployed at centre back as his size and

best attributes suit. Can also chop in with his fair

share of assists...for the opposition, as we found

out in the warm up game.

ANTHONY HYNES

DEFENDER Often found gracing ‘Flares’ dance Noor with his

presence on a Saturday night doing the funky

chicken. Come Sunday morning running round

the pitch like a headless chicken! This might

explain why he puts his head where others

wouldn't put a boot. This has nothing to do with

his nosebleeds though! They are caused by his

stupid, relentless forward runs he likes to make,

which aggravates his team mates.

KARL LIDSTER

MIDFIELDER Famous for leaving his wife-to-be Kim Kar-

dashian standing at the altar in 2010, so he

could watch Swedish House Maa play, Karl

will try to make a big impact tonight. Having

turned his career around and nding Jesus, Karl

will be hoping to nd a few 50-yard passes

tonight, as well as posing for pictures with his

army of female fans.

JOSH O’DONOGHUE

DEFENDER Josh started his football career playing outeld

in various positions, after realising how poor he

was, and getting unselected in score pick he

decided to try playing in goal! Since playing in

goal josh has also realised that maybe football

isn't for him, but FC Mary’s were desperate for

someone daft enough to stand between the

sticks for 90 mins.

MATTHEW FORSTER

DEFENDER Where do we start with Matthew? Let's just say

if he was to write in the programme, you would

be sat here for longer than the 90 mins of foot-

ball today you are about to watch. . Whilst on

the pitch he is a referees dream, often stopping

them to discuss the rules of the game and

helping them book his own players. The bottom

line being If you struggle with insomnia or need

someone to get the kids to sleep, just have a

chat with fozzzzzzzzz.

NICK ROBINSON

DEFENDER Croatian international 'Nutty Nick' has only

recently been released from prison in Vene-

zuela, after a misunderstanding with a briefcase

full of baking powder in his hotel room. When

he’s not being falsely imprisoned in South

American correctional units, Nicholas enjoys

haberdashery, croquet and dog ghting, the

latter of which has earned him an NVQ Level 4.

CHRIS SCULLY

MIDFIELDER Chris is often described as a horse. Not only

does he look like one, he trots (runs if you can

call it that) like he's towing a cart. The only thing

quick about chris is the speed in which he dis-

appears after a game! Once again living up to

his horse tag by being whipped o$ his better

half to get home and do the household chores,

whilst the rest of the lads enjoy a pint or ten.

CHRIS MCDONOUGH

FORWARD Whilst his team mates are warming up Christo-

pher is often found deep in discussion with the

groundsmen on how to maintain the ne turf.

However when the whistle goes, he's up and

down the wing like wild re, frequently asking

people to apologise to him after making a

challenge on him.

JAMES LOUGHRAN

MIDFIELDER James recently left Chelsea’s Academy under a

cloud, after it emerged he is actually 38 years

old. Not to be deterred, "Jam" broke into

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe’s house

and would not leave until he was given a two-

year deal and a large whisky. Odds on to both

be sent o$ and score the winner.

CHARLES SMITH

MIDFIELDER Whilst not plying his trade as a joiner Charlie

loves a good kick about. Let's just say if his

joinery skills are anything like his football skills,

he'd be out of a job! Like many of the building

sites Charlie works on, he to comes with his

own safety warning, "please stay behind the

barriers and use helmet provided, as we don't

know where his rst touch will end up!"

NATHAN SUMMERSGILL

FORWARD Tricky ace Nathan knows where the back of the

net is and will be looking to run the FC Sea-

brook defence ragged tonight. Hotly tipped to

replace Albert Adomah in the Boro team next

year, Nathan will have to be tamed if Seabrook

are to get anything from this match.
