Adinkra are visual symbols originally created by

the Akans of Ghana and the Gyaman of Cote

d’Ivore in West Africa that represent concepts

and aphorisms. Adinkra are used extensively in

many facets of arts and culture, textile,

architecture, pottery, performance and literally

arts, fashion, etc.
