Editorial
he First Annual Frotcom Meeting took place last
May 26-28, near Lisbon, Portugal (see page 4).
We had the pleasure to gather for the first time
Frotcom Certified Partners from countries as
diverse as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Sierra Leone or Spain, to name
but a few.
The meeting was a great opportunity for everybody to share ideas and
experiences. Undoubtedly, some actions which prove successful in one country
can be repeated in other countries. But it is also sometimes the opposite.
Processes which are valid in one place are not necessarily valid elsewhere. That
is why having the opportunity to share experiences and their contexts and
discussing methodologies for marketing, sales, after sales and support was great
for giving everybody better tools to address their local markets.
Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation
of new features – some of which are being presented
already in this issue of Roadmap – and the planning of
the next features to be added to Frotcom in the near
future. It is clear that Frotcom is already benefiting
from input and feedback received from Clients and
Partners all over the world. Future releases will
continue to incorporate this feedback, therefore
bringing Frotcom closer and closer to the ideal vehicle
tracking and fleet management solution.
I know that the success of this first meeting is something we will want to repeat
in future editions. It will not be easy, because the standard was set very high.
In fact, we had hoped for a good meeting and for Partners to bond and work as
a team. In the end, I truly believe that we all went a little further: we were
looking for a team and we got a family.

New Features
Frotcom TV
Frotcom TV is a whole
new experience. It creates a “TV-
like” environment in which main
news about the fleet (alarms,
arrivals and departures, etc.), but
also news of the “outside world”
are continuously displayed.
Because it requires no human intervention, Frotcom TV is ideal to be displayed
on an LCD or plasma monitor in a wall mount in the dispatch center or meeting
room.
Improved tracking
The new features related to tracking on Maps were developed to facilitate the
visualization and analysis of the vehicles’ tracking data. These features include:
multiple tracking, clustering, street view (this feature is not available in Bing
maps, only Google maps), improved movie, new vehicle icons, visually
identifiable trips and additional changes to user interface (“facelift”).
Online user guidelines
These guidelines are mostly targeted at
inexperienced users of Frotcom – including
users of the free trials.
The tools that facilitate the adaptation of
new users to the interface are the mouse
indicators and the online help.

Case Study
Deni Internacional
Reducing costs in international transport
Deni Internacional is a Macedonian company, founded in 1991, as an enterprise
specialized in organizing the international transport of goods. Since then, it has
evolved significantly, with a current number of 38 vehicles meant both for
international transport and local distribution of different types of goods
(palletized, non-palletized, dangerous ADR materials). The company’s growth
can also be seen in the current number of employees, 120, who are highly
trained to conduct their tasks in a professional manner and to meet the clients’
expectations constantly.
The main focus of Deni Internacional
is the collective transport from and
to all destinations in Europe, but
they also offer services for individual
transport. Moreover, the company
has a long term successful
cooperation with leading transport and logistics companies in the world and a
24 hours communication with the vehicles no matter their location.
The organization also disposes of a public customs warehouse, customs
terminal, forwarding services, provision of complete warehouse storage
materials, forklifts and cleaning machines and a Gas station - Autohof 00.
According to Mr. Straso Jakimovski and Mr. Toni Krkacev, respectively CEO and
Transport and Logistics Manager at Deni International, “We implemented
Frotcom to reduce costs and make our business more efficient and the system
has undoubtedly helped us do that. We could see almost immediately a
substantial reduction in fuel consumption. In addition, we now also benefit from
a considerable decrease in communication costs by using Frotcom’s integrated
navigation module”.
ROADMAP congratulates Dragan Kostovski and the Frotcom Macedonia team for this successful project.
