What is the 19th amendment?

The 19th amendment ratified that all women have the right to vote. This made a major impact in women’s lives because of the hard work they , such as protesting that took more than decades. They wrote to the congress, they marched all over and petitioned for so long. The congress finally passed the law on June 4, 1919. This law was then ratified on August 18, 1920. Millions of women gratefully exercised their right to vote for the first time in many, many years. They finally had the same rights, responsibilities as men and a citizen.

What is evolution? Evolution explains that what we see today is different from what happened in the past. People who were evolutionists, were just against god thinking that he can't make multiple copies of species, like humans. Faith is risen by God’s words. No one can really explain or have evidence that will prove if God really exists. Darwin’s arguments against God is a failure because he is not making true statements. He could not explain in his words and in reality. There is a difference between basing something on data and a difference between belief. We would be undermining religious faith if we allowed teaching of some sort. This is disrespectful. We are pushing to pass a law that says that any speech on evolution should be prohibited in any way. We shall not trust no Darwin with the universe. In 1925 a substitute high school teacher was accused of teaching evolution, teaching evolution is illegal because of the Tennessee'sButler Act. This act was told that teachers couldn't teach the evolution of man because of the Bible account. This is wrong. People and children should know their perspective on how we, as people have evolved from the past to the future. Everyone should know the truth and the real reason. God is not the one who has created us, humans and animals. We are here because of evolution. Not God. -Hellen Jones

The Jazz Age

In the 1920’s, jazz became a

huge hit. Jazz was created by

the African Americans. Huge

advances were made in the

1920’s. Jazz were originated in

the New Orleans in the early

1900’s. When more job

opportunities came in the

North, African and American

and musicians moved to

Chicago. They found jobs in

cabarets, ballrooms and dances.

In 1922, an indie company

called Gennett Records in

Richmond, Indian, recorded

kazz groups that performed in

Chicago. One of the first groups

that they recorded was called

the New Orleans Rhythm Kings.

Then in 1923, the group, King

Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band. After

these groups, the company

became popular bringing in

more and more groups into

record. Louis Armstrong and

sidney Bechet changed music’s

taste. The music has changed

over all and so has jazz. The jazz

has made a muge effect on the

people even after all the

arguments. Jazz will always be

a mark in the world.

Large amounts of Americans lives in the city area than the urban for the first time ever. Statistically speaking, it happens so that three-fourths of the people worked in places other than the farm itself. Our city life included access to the movies, dances, dating, jazz, alcohol. We enjoy life up here. Its quite lovely. We are more genuinely classy people. We are more social than the rural people.. Our lifestyles are full of wonder and surprises everyday. We are very open people. We allow anything that will benefit us as people.

In the urban life, in the 1920’s, it is very small. We don't have any connections to alcohol, jazz, drinking, etc. we are people of independence, hard working, and religious. We are no fool. We conserve our own moral values. We are people who trust no one. We don't communicate with them urban people. We always go to church and pray to the lord that has made out presents to this universe. We shall all get the same opportunities as the urban people and the same treatment. Where we live shall not be a label for who we are.

Urban Vs. Rural

My name is Rae Besslem, I am a

US citizen, husband, and a

father of four kids. Some may

think of me as a dewdropper,

but its frog’s eyebrows. Just

because the sale of alcohol is

illegal, doesn’t mean I can’t

drink. I lap all day and all week

long. My wife gets really angry at

me when I lap. I don’t see what

the problem is alcohol makes me

very happy. The government

shouldn’t get to choose what we

can’t and can put into our

bodies. If we drink, it’s not like

we’re affecting THEM. We may

be affecting the ones around us

and the ones who love and care

but we’re not doing any harm to

the government. I shall be able

to buy and drink alcohol

whenever I shall want.

“I have tolerated my husband’s

drinking and the beatings and abuse that fallow for many

years. he would come home from the pub late at night

smelling like vomit and and singing drinking songs at the top of his lungs. Before Prohibition, Most nights he would drink all

the money in his pockets away, I had to chastise him every day

and try to convince him to bring money home for our family. Ever since Prohibition was passed we have had a good

relationship, our children are looking healthier and they have better grades in school. I believe

that alcohol was ritefully banned, without alcohol in their blood husbands, and wives have become peaceable and are better

influences on the future generation.”

Q:What is it like being treated like you are

much less than men?

A: It is horrible. It feels like you don’t

have a purpose in this life besides tending

to the children, cooking meals, looking

after the children, and keeping a smile

when your husband gets home.

Q: What should be done to change that?

A: First, we should get as many women as

possible to support us. Stop doing what

we are expected to do and rebel.

Q: Do you feel that that changing things

now will make a difference for women in

future generations?

A: Yes, we cannot give up. We must keep

fighting until we are treated equally.

Q: Why is it that women are looked as

weaker than men?

A: I don’t know, I don’t really understand

why men think that women aren’t capable

of what men can do. Some women may be

a little small, but that doesn’t mean they

don’t have a strong voice, or opinion.

Q: What else do you think should be

done?

A: I think that men should start listening

to our opinions on certain things. They

think that we don’t know what goes on.

We have voices too, we opinionate, we

have personalities. It’s time that we all get

heard.

Q: What kinds of things are young

women, in particular, doing?

A: The fashion has definitely changed

drastically for women over the years.

Q: How does fashion have a huge

impact on women’s behavior?

A: Dresses are getting shorter, as well

with hair, makeup is being purchased

and used. Women feel more free.

They had to cover themselves in

clothes and are ritzy burger if skin

was shown.

Q: What does dumbdora mean?

A: A stupid girl.

Q: What is a barlow?

A: A girl, a flapper.

Q: Is it okay if I ask more questions?

A: Actually no I feel like I am

edisoned. Interview is over.

The Klu Klux Klan is

Bad For AmericaThe Klu Klux Klan was founded in 1866 by an ex-Confederate soldiers

and other Southerners after the Civil War. The KKK stated during the

reconstruction at the end of the Civil War.It is made up of white Christians

who believe that America should live the “American Dream” and only the

“American” way. They don’t like how other cultures come in to the United

States. That is the main reason why they kill/hurt people that are not their

race or religion. Their primary targets are the African Americans, other

religions, and foreigners.

The second KKK in 1915, was refounded in Atlanta, Georgia. In

the 1920s, they went to many states to try to convince people to give them

their vote. They also tried to dominate local and state politics. In some states,

like Colorado and Indiana, they placed enough Klansmen(KKK members) in

positions of power to effectively control state government. In 1925, the clan

started a huge march in Washington D.C.. Over four million members

attended.

The reason for using very creepy costumes is because they mean to

look terrifying and to hide their identities. They make their own masks, robes,

and conical hats. They go out during the night and burn crosses outside and

local groups took part in attacks on private houses, mostly occurred in the

South.

The second Klan is a fraternal organization, which is known as a

brotherhood or a secret society. In the mid-1920s, there was 15% of the

eligible poopulation and from 4-5 million men in the klan. The KKK mostly

attacked and held parades.

SportsBaseball highlights:

On January 3rd 1920 the Red Sox sold a player by the name of Babe Ruth to another team.

In the 1920s something new was created, Negro National League, an all African American Baseball League.

Transition of sports:

Sports like baseball, tennis, golf, swimming, football, and boxing

flourished in this decade.

The best football player:

Red Grange was said to be the best football player of all time,they called him “The Galloping Ghost” because he was so fast.

Transition of sports:

Many sports went through a transition during the 1920s. Promoters saw an opportunity to capitalize and make money.

Sports news got put in the media which ensured large crowds at games, which makes the promoters money.

How Sports Impacted America:

America yearns for a hero figure, sports gave them that. The decade of

the 1920’s is referred to as “The Golden Age of Sports”
