The Pride’s ROAR!

Several of us manned a food booth the first day of convention. It was very yummy, thanks Cassandra for all your preparations. The next day brought meetings and several awards for the club. One for visitation, Cassandra got an excellence award and the Govenor’s Assistant trophy.

Cheri got a trophy for Cental Region chair and DG Van for 1st VDG.

The Pride’s ROAR!

In May we helped the Hanford Breakfast Lions with their annual Mothers Day breakfast, by cooking and running a photobooth. We also participat-ed in the annual Avenue of flags. Our club placed and took down over 1300 individual flags on veteran headstones. A very honorable tradition. Thanks to all who participated. We also received an award from the Im-perial Dove Court for our service to the community.

The Pride’s ROAR!

We were there for Visalia and Fresno Pride celebrations. Also, Bobbie Jo did a bus trip up to San Francisco for their Pride celebra-tion. Another Successful Pride RideA bus full of excited attendees left at daybreak on June 30th to en-joy a day of PRIDE as only San Francisco can offer. The event was organized to raise funds to help keep The Living Room open and fi-nancially assist in the search in a cure for HIV/AIDS. And of course, San Francisco Pride Ride was a huge success. Since 2014 Lions Yolanda and Bobbie Jo Mendez have participated in the annual Fresno Aids Walk and 5K Run. Under the team name “Team STR8 with a TWIST” they hosted (among other events) the 3rd annual San Francisco Pride Ride. San Francisco Pride Ride is an inclusive bus ride to the bay and back, that features games, oppor-tunity drawings, giveaways, and meals in route. Once there, all are free to enjoy the Parade and the following celebration for the day. This year’s Pride Ride earned just under $400 for their aids walk team and for the effort to fight HIV/AIDS. Those wishing t donate or participate; registered team listings and sign up information can be found at: http://fresnoaidswalk.org/
