McQuaid Engineering Ltd

Global NetworkOur MQ Rock Breaker booms are installed worldwide including the most extreme working environments of -45°C to +40°C. This is supported by our highly skilled global network of sale distributors and engineers who provide excellent sales and service support.

Built in ExperienceYears of experience in the design, development and manufacture of rock breaker booms, including collaboration with the leading Mobile Crusher OEM design teams, has ensured that our range of boom systems are superior quality and built to withstand the destructive nature of their intended application.

Down-Time Solved! At the age when production targets are very important and down-time due to crusher blockages is proving a problem you can rely on us to provide a cost-effective solution! The installation of an MQ Rock Breaker Boom greatly improves productivity by breaking blocked oversize material quickly and safely and solving bridging problems by raking material into the crusher.

Reduced Down-time = Increased TPH rates = Increased Turnover

ServiceWe are a focused customer service company that you can count on to provide advice before and after the sale. Our experienced engineers are always on hand to provide advice on the most suitable product for your application, as well as installation, commissioning and training support and after sales maintenance advice.

Pedestal Rock BreakerBoom SystemsOur range of Pedestal Boom Systems are designed for use on crushers for the purpose of breaking oversize material or raking bridged material. They are also used for other applications such as breaking oversized material on the Grizzly.

The range consists of 9 models with horizontal reach of 3.8m to 12m (12’ 6” to 39’ 4”), catering for a variety of applications from the standard quarry and mining operations such as jaw crusher or small grizzly to the large heavy duty crusher and grizzly operations. For environments where overhead space is limited we offer a 3 jib boom. This allows the boom to fold and manoeuvre in the confined space whilst still having the reach required.

The Pedestal boom range is available in 180° or 360° slew, manufactured from the highest quality materials to withstand the toughest of applications; the range is built to ensure safety and increased production.

To date our Pedestal Boom Systems have been successfully installed by global industry leading firms such as Lafarge,Tarmac, Hanson, Boral, Newmont & Boliden.

Pedestal Waste Transfer BoomOur pedestal waste booms are designed specifically for the waste industry and are used with our own range of attachments for the purpose of transferring, sorting and compacting waste materials. Below image shows CM4120 boom on a moving gantry in waste transfer plant.

Scaling BoomOr scaling booms are designed for breaking rock in miningand tunnelling applications.

The booms can be integrated onto various carriers and comewith a number of horizontal reaches which will carry a rangeof hydralic breakers up to 1000kgs capacity.

When selecting a pedestal boom system you need to consider two key factors; Location and the Breaker size required. It is important to consider where best to position the boom so that it can provide; Optimum coverage to break material in the crusher and also rake material into the crusher. Sufficient access area for the operator and service/ maintenance personnel to access equipment. The breaker size is important as it affects the efficiency ofthe boom. Points to consider are how hard is the material? And how often is it necessary to break oversized material?

ROCK BREAKER BOOM SYSTEMS

Our range of Mobile Boom Systems are designed for use on mobile crushers for the purpose of breaking oversize material. Their compact dimensions enable the boom to remain on the crusher during transport thus eliminating down-time on site for assembly and disassembly.

The range consists of 6 models with horizontal reach of 2m to 5.4m (6’3” to 18’8”), catering for a large variety of mobile crusher sizes.

By design the mobile boom range can integrate onto ALL brands and models of mobile crusher and have been successfully installed onto such brands asKleemann, Lippmann, Sandvik, Tesab, Hartl & GIPO.

Terex, Metso,

The mobile boom is generally powered directly from the mobile crushers own hydraulic system, therefore eliminating the need for a separate hydraulic power supply. For electrical powered mobile crushers we offer a full range of power pack units.

The range is available in 180° or 360° slew and wherever possible are mounted using the crushers existing structural steelwork.

For large heavy duty mobile crushers the CM4120 Series booms are offered.

Selecting the Right Mobile BoomKey factors to consider when selecting a mobile boom are the Transport Requirement, Size of Breaker and Boom Reach.

• Does the boom need mounted within the mobile crushers transport dimensions?• What size is the oversized material?• Is the boom required to break material in the feeder and rake material into the crusher?• What reach does the boom require to break oversize material in the jaw?
