1
How to Play This quiz is a party game. It works like this:
1. A “quizmaster” functions as the host and referee for the event, choosing videos, asking questions and judging the responses.
2. The other participants are divided into two teams. 3. The teams take turns watching a music video and answering questions
related to it. The quizmaster asks at least three questions for each video. 4. The first answer a team gives is the answer that counts, so it is a good
idea to discuss and agree before shouting out an answer. 5. If a given team answers incorrectly, then the question is passed on to the
other team, thereby giving them an opportunity to steal the point. Again, it’s the first answer that counts.
6. Each team gets one point for each correct answer. The quizmaster keeps track of the score.
7. Winning: the quizmaster might choose to set a time limit for the game or to play until one team achieves a specific winning score. A good rule of thumb is to expect to complete about 15 tracks with associated questions per hour.
This quiz system has been successfully run at many types of parties, including Christmas parties, birthday parties and other events. It is always fun to enjoy good music and compete with friends.
How to find the videos The videos are provided on a DVD-ROM in a folder called “Music Videos,” in which they are listed in the same order as in the question texts below.
How to use the questions The questions are listed below. They are sorted alphabetically by artist name and then by song name, both set in bold. For many (though not all) of the tracks, we provide more than three questions. It is up to the quizmaster to select the questions that best match the level of the participants. The quizmaster is thereby able to adjust the difficulty of the quiz to ensure the right balance between right and wrong answers. The quizmaster is free to ask more than the mandatory three questions per music video if he or she so chooses, but the quizmaster must ensure that both teams are asked the same number of questions.
Good advice for the quizmaster Choose your music videos in advance

2
Watch all of the videos all the way through to make sure they are appropriate for your audience’s age and sensibilities.
If necessary, help the teams underway (e.g., with hints) to help create a good and positive mood. The game should be pleasant and fun for everyone, though there will still be just one winner.
Make sure you have a big screen and a great sound system available. It is better to have too much material for the quiz rather than too little. If you wish, you might choose to add your “own” videos and questions,
and/or write new questions for the supplied videos. One possible source for new videos is Youtube and similar streaming video sites.
It is also possible to play using audio tracks instead of (or in addition to) videos. However, it is best when there is also something for the eyes too.
The Questions (Note, the full Danish version of this game includes over 350 pages of questions. For this project, we provide translated questions for just 30 songs—enough for two hour-long quiz events.)
