Euroalpha technical team has been the first to introduce the multi-
motor technology on rod breakdown machines for non-ferrous wi-
res, in order to achieve LIMITED-SLIP operations and exceed the
performance of conventional slip-type drawing machines.
Annealers with motor-driven shafts followed later, to match the dra-
wing machines’ enhanced technology and break through the typical
limits of conventional belt-driven annealers.
Euroalpha opted for low-inertia a.c. motors and state-of-the-art vec-
tor inverter drives, to secure best precision speed control through a
maintenance-free system.
Improved algorithm to synchronize motors and minimize slip has
been set up thanks to 16-years continuous research and testing
onto limited-slip technology.
Euroalpha design positively affects operations and maintenance,
improves wire quality and it also brings a significant contribution to
running costs savings:
• energy consumption substantially reduced;
• working lifespam of drawing capstans and annealer’s contact ban-
ds largely extended;
• maintenance operations extremely simplified and less expensive;
• low noise level without any sound-proof cabinet;
• superior quality of finished wires;
• great operational flexibility, to set up the “best” drawing process
for any type of material.
High precision design and manufacturing of mechanical parts, com-
bined with a large use of standard commercial components from
best manufacturers, make Euroalpha equipment a benchmark as
overall reliability and user-friendly approach for operators and main-
tenance engineers.
Continuous and effective operations are guaranteed by our After-
Sales Service well experienced team, and on-site assistance can be
even further strenghtened thanks to the vast and capillary worldwide
presence of our OEMs.

R1 is an innovative compact rod breakdown machine to cope
with space shortage often present in drawing plants: 4 mt long
only.
Capstans are arranged onto two superimposed rows, and they
are all individually motor-driven to perform limited-slip drawing.
Submerged lubrication on the lower row of capstans, and ex-
clusive spray lubrication on the upper row.
Thanks to its intelligent design R1 provides performance and
wire quality absolutely comparable with the ones of conventio-
nal rod breakdown machines, with capstans arranged onto a
single straight-line and submerged into the drawing lubricant.
But against lower operational costs.
R1 does represent the most cost-effective solution to draw
copper rod, as for capital investment and operational expen-
ses.

R3 is a very high-performance rod breakdown machine with capstans arranged onto one single row, which overall project stands out for ergonomic design, solid construction and flexibi-lity of use.It can be manufactured for drawing from 1 up to 4 wires simulta-neously, to meet even the most consistent requirements in terms of productivity.A special twin-wire execution for drawing two different finished sizes at different speeds is also available, in order to enhance the overall flexibility and productivity of the line.Submerged lubrication with fully watertight operations is com-bined with easy access to capstans and dies during string-up thanks to a sliding steel bulkhead in front of the capstans, mo-ving downwards and upwards for string-up and drawing respec-tively.The entire drawing section is closed by a steel front door with innovative round design.Low operational costs are guaranteed by limited-slip technology and the clever design of the machine.

Pull-out capstan of the drawing machine coaxial with the first annealing ring, to guarantee non-slip operations and shortening the total length of the line.Inner-cooled annealing shafts and rings.Transfer pulleys with double electrical insulation from the frame.Annealing path in protected atmosphere (steam or nitro-gen), by means of a closed channel made of insulating and corrosion-resistant special plastic material.The wire passes from protected atmosphere to the cooling system without contacting air, in order to avoid any unde-sired oxidation effect.Multiple drying system, including drying boxes with special labyrinth design for 25-times air speed enhancement, in order to achieve a superior drying with quite limited con-sumptions.The drying boxes are suitable for any size of wire, and they have not to be replaced with relation to the diameter of the finished wire.Drying system entirely installed into a closed chamber, in corrosion-resistant material, easily accessible by a locka-ble door, in order to reduce the noise level.
Euroalpha annealers’ family has been designed to meet any requirement in terms of installation constraints and
productivity demand. AH horizontal annealer guarantees easy operations and maintenance, while AHV vertical
annealer well copes with space shortage. Both types are available on a wide range of power classes, either in
single or twin wire execution. By-pass pulleys are included for producing hard wires.
Consolidated d.c. current annealing process, with extremely precise current’s control even at very slow speeds,
guarantees perfect annealing from 0 m/sec speed. All the shafts are individually motor driven to adapt (automa-
tically) the kinematic to each wire diameter.
The total absence of transmission belts enhances the reliability and substantially reduces maintenance on the
annealers. Dancer built-in the annealer’s frame prevents from any misalignment during installation, and reduces
the total length of the line.
