The vast majority of care that we provide at Portneufs new Sports Medicine

    Institute will never necessitate surgery.

However, when surgery is required we want you to know you are in good hands.

In fact a highly respected consumer advocacy group recently

published overall surgery ratings for hospitals acrossthe country. In the report Portneuf was given the

    highest possible ranking.

This kind of recognition really helps validate all the care and attention to detail

that our surgical teams and their support staffs provide. We are committed to

continue on this path of excellence and to do all those things necessary to

    maintain your trust and condence.

I t has been a busy couple omonths or Miss Junior RodeoIdaho, Isabel Winder. Recently, she has traveled to several different

cities to attend different events andcarry her title. In October, Winder attended

the Wilderness Circuit Finals inHeber City, Utah. She said that shewas pleasantly surprised at howbeauti ul the city was. Winder saidshe loved attending the event be-cause she was able to see dozens ocowboys compete to see i they cango to the National Finals Rodeo(NFR).

Te Wright brothers are someo my avorite cowboys. Tey werethere and they made it to the NFR,said Winder. Tey are probably myavorite because they have had a goal

to have all the brothers in their ami-ly get into the NFR. So ar, three havegotten in and I think it is really coolthey can do that as a amily. Tey arereally un to watch.

On Nov. 9 Winder took an-other trip, this time to Nampa toattend a send off party or EricaGreenwood, who was preparingto compete or the Miss RodeoAmerica Contest. Te party tookplace at the Idaho Horse Park andlike most sendoff parties, includeda undraiser to help Greenwood onthe nancially-trying journey toher competition.

Winder said it was a great oppor-

tunity or her to go to the partybecause she was able to see otherIdaho queens that she doesnt getto see very ofen because most othem live in Boise.

[Erica] talked to us about howshe prepared or the contest, saidWinder. We got to see her andtake pictures with her. I haventgotten to see her very ofen. Shehas inspired me because she isone o those people who is un tobe around. She is always smiling, she always has unny commentsand she is a positive person. I havelearned a lot rom her during herreign.

Winder also took a trip to LasVegas to attend the NFR on Dec 5.It is this huge arena with a

huge stadium, said Winder. It islike being in a concert. It is really

intense and you can just eel therodeo. Te cowboys that competethere are the best o the best.

raveling and making appear-ances isnt the only thing Winderhas been up to so ar this winter. She continues to practice or herqueening career, with a ocus onhorsemanship.

We ride in an indoor arena topractice, but it isnt heated so itgets cold, said Winder. I rode the

other day when it was -6. You haveto be really care ul. You have toride a little bit and sit and let [yourhorse] cool down so he doesnt getsweaty and wet. You have to rideeasier during the winter.

he best part about the wintertime or Winder is that she getsto take things steady and slow. She said it gives her time to ocusand ine tune her skills. Sheappreciates having long blocks otime to practice without inter-ruption so she can be con identin her abilities when it is time orcompetitions.

I am excited to start a new year

as Miss Rodeo Idaho and enjoy thetime I have to be a good represen-tative o Idaho. I love that I can justgo out and be me and show peoplewho I am and what I represent.
