Going the DistanceSince 2006, the annual Roof Dog Run has been hosted by Christ ChurchPlano as a fun, family event, which raises funds to benet the children ofthe Casa Hogar Anglican Childrens Home in Arequipa, Peru. Over 700people and almost 100 dogs participated last year. Each year, we haveseen participation increase. To date $225,000 has been raised which paidfor a new childrens home in Peru.

This years goal is to raise $75,000 in prots which will help to cover theiroperating costs. The Casa Hogar houses children ages 3 to 18. Besidesproviding for the physical structure, proceeds alsogo towards food, shelter, clothing, school tuition, medical and spiritual needs. We are committedto going the distance with these kids. We are

helping to give them hope and a future.

WhyRoof DogRun?Walk through the streets of Peru and you will noticethat you are being watched from above. Lookingdown on you are the dogs that live on the rooftopsof their owners homes serving as protectorsover the home. In 2005, a Christ Church missionteam was inspired by this and adopted the name

Roof Dogsfor themselves. They saw themselves asprotectors of the kids at the childrens home who theyhave grown to love and care about. Christ Church hasnow sent eight Roof Dog teams to Peru, and each yearorganizes the Roof Dog Run as the annual fundraiser.
