Shared expensesThe expenses that are not included in your monthly rental price are: water, electricity, Internet, and sometimes gas "butano" (if have one in your flat).

The bills for water and electricity you share with your flatmates equally. These bills are sent every 2 months for each tenant. As you understand, the amount of money for these expenses depend on how much you consume.

The price for the Internet is a fixed one (it is not going to change): you pay 10 euros for that every month every time you pay for your rent. (So it means that if your monthly rent, for example, is 200 euros, so every month between days 1st and 5th you should pay 200+10 euros= 210 euros total.)

Apart from that, if your gas is butano in the flat, so you should order the butano tank by yourselves with flatmates when the previous one is empty.

Gas in your flatIf you have gas tank in your flat (not electrical heater or stove), you need to change it with your flatmates when it is empty;

The tank costs 17,50 euros and the delivery is usually on the next day, but you will be informed about that when you order;

You can order a new tank (bombona de butano) from a company that serves your area by telephone or online form:

Changing the gas tank: gas system consists of two items: a boiler and a gas tank which are connected with a cable.

1• Turn off the boiler

2• Disconnect the cable from the bottle

3• Remove safety cover from the new bottle

4• Plug in the cable into the gas tank (you will hear „click“)

5• Check if it is connected properly and the gas is not escaping

6• Light up the boiler

Page 9: Room-Granada guide for tenants

How to switch on the boiler?

1. First of all, check if the gas tank is well connected.

2. There are different kinds of boilers: sometimes there is only one button, sometimes there are more.

3. New version requires only one ‘click’ and they light up themselves directly.

4. If you have older version, you need to press the ‘button’ insert a match or a lighter (long one). When the flame will appear take out the match but hold the button. Wait for few seconds and then release the button. Then there should remain a tiny flame.

Visiting rulesThe terms in case of visit of your family members or friends that plan to stay in the same room with you:

First of all, the main rule here is that we allow visiting of your friends/family but you should inform us about every visit (containing the info about who is visiting, how many days the person is going to stay, etc).

As well, you are obliged to inform your flatmates beforehand about the visit and ask if they agree with that. It is important to respect each other, because you share the same apartment.

In case that a person/several family members stay for quite a long period (1-2 weeks), we would be glad to help you find a friendly-priced accommodation for that period (as we have different agreements with hotels/hostels around).

It is important that you pay equally for the water and electricity bills in case that there are more people visiting you.

Washing machine usage

Washing machines in Spain have got a blockade. That is why please wait after washing machine finishes its work before opening it. (Normally it is between 3-5 minutes)

!Don’t try to force it! Kicking or pushing

the washing machine is definitely not helping the machine to work properly.

During the general cleaning of the flat you may use «lejia» as well;!!Cockroaches appear when there is water on the floor/tables, trash, and food;!!Remember to clean your room and flat before leaving, we will do a check after your departure.
