Failure to adhere to the warnings below may result in death, serious injury and/or loss of valuables.

• Pella Insynctive ROOMSIDE CELLULAR SHADES are not 100% reliable for a variety of reasons. For example, SHADES:

— communicate data wirelessly, and wireless data is susceptible to interference or failure.

— require proper installation.

— require batteries with an adequate charge.

— may be damaged after installation.

• Therefore, Pella Insynctive products should not be relied upon in situations where life, safety, and/or protection of valuables are solely dependent on their function. Test each product at least once per year to help ensure proper operation.

• Ensure the installation instructions are followed. SHADE must be securely mounted to the support structure. The method of attachment and support structure must be sufficient for the weight of SHADE.

• Ensure that path of shade is clear before operating.

• Keep sources of flame away from shades.

• Do not allow children to operate blinds or shades without proper adult supervision.

• Keep batteries and other small parts out of reach of children. If battery or any parts are swallowed, immediately seek medical help.

• Batteries carry the risk of fire, explosion and burns. Do not recharge, disassemble or incinerate.

SEVERAL DIFFERENT CONTROL OPTIONS

• Make every day a little easier. Choose the option of adding Pella Insynctive™ technology, and your blinds and shades can be conveniently operated from the comfort of your chair using their remote control. Or sync them with a compatible home automation system via the Insynctive Bridge so they can be programmed and operated from your smartphone, tablet or computer.

• Pella® Cellular Shades offer the convenience of moving the shade up or down with three programmable positions or anywhere in between — all with the ease of a button press.

• Want to control multiple shades with just one remote? A single channel remote can be used to program a single shade or a group of shades to suit the space.

SHADE MEASUREMENT INSTRUCTIONS

MEASURE AND ASSESS AREA TO BE COVERED:

• Measure opening to be covered vertically and horizontally in three places.

• If vertical measurements vary more than 1/2", we recommend an outside mount.

• If horizontal measurements vary more than 1/2", we recommend an outside mount.

• Measure and compare diagonals to determine if opening is square.

• If corner to corner diagonal measurements vary more than 1/2", we recommend an outside mount.

• Use a level to determine if opening is plumb and square.

• If out of square or out of plumb by more than 3-1/4", we recommend an outside mount.

MEASUREMENT RULES:

• Measure all windows, even if they appear to be the same size.

CONSIDERATIONS:

• There must be significant support structure to hold the shade, i.e. wood, concrete, anchored drywall, etc.

• For drywall you may use heavy duty auger style drywall anchors rated sufficient for the weight of the shade.

• Inside mount and outside mount are available. When determining inside versus outside mount, consider the depth of the window structure and the size of the headrail, 3 ¼" overall depth. Also, be sure the shade path is free from obstructions, i.e., handles, locks, alarm sensors, moulding, trim, etc.

REQUIRED ORDER FORM MEASUREMENTS FOR INSIDE MOUNT:

• Use the MINIMUM horizontal window opening measurement for WIDTH.

• Use the MAXIMUM vertical window opening measurement for HEIGHT.

• Measure and record DEPTH. Use the minimum distance from the outside of the window opening to the window (including window mullions if present). This is important in determining if the shade and or headrail cover will protrude out of the window opening into the room. The depth of the shade headrail is 3-1/4".

REQUIRED ORDER FORM MEASUREMENTS FOR OUTSIDE MOUNT:

• Use the MAXIMUM horizontal window opening measurement PLUS 1/2" to determine fabric width.

• Use the fabric width PLUS the overall desired side overlap for WIDTH.

• Use the MAXIMUM vertical window opening measurement PLUS the desired headrail overlap (2" MIN.) PLUS the desired sill overlap (1" MIN.) for HEIGHT.

BOTTOM RAIL ACTIVATION

Pella Cellular Shades incorporate the same tug features that allow Pella Roller Shades to open with just a short tug, or be lowered without the remote.

Tug the bottom rail downward less than 1" • Shade opens to next highest preset position (example: shade moves from lower position

to user position)

Tug the bottom rail downward between 1" – 3" • Shade moves to full open

Tug the bottom rail MORE than approximately 3" • Shade remains at position stopped until pulled or sent up with a remote

PELLA® INSYNCTIVE™ REMOTE CONTROL

• Pella blinds and shades with Insynctive technology make it easier to control your comfort.

• Open them with the touch of a button to warm your room with sunlight or close them to help keep your room cooler.

SYNC TO COMPATIBLE SECURITY OR HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM

• Press Up button to move Cellular Shade to upper position.

• Press and hold the Up button on remote until Cellular Shade begins to move down, then release.

• Once Cellular Shade stops, pull the bottom rail down at least 5". Cellular Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is in sync mode.

• Press the Center button on remote three times within five seconds. Bridge light will begin blinking blue when Cellular Shade successfully syncs. Depending upon distance between the Bridge and Cellular Shade, more than three presses of the Center button may be required to sync.

• Follow the inclusion process for the security or home automation system to add Cellular Shade to the system.

Cellular Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge Cellular Shade was successfully synced to bridge and will then move to the upper position. Also, Bridge will beep and light will change from flashing blue to solid green to indicate that Cellular Shade was successfully added to the home automation system.

REMOTE CONTROL RANGE EXPECTATIONS

Pella Insynctive Remote Controls are expected to work from approximately 30 feet away and closer. While your individual results will vary, and may be less in some environments, many customers have reported even better results.



PROGRAMMING POSITIONSRemote control may be used to teach up to three positions to Insynctive™ Cellular Shade; including an Upper position, User position, and Lower position.

Once placed into program mode, Remote will stay in program mode until the programming process is completed or Remote will automatically exit program mode if no buttons are pressed for 1 minute or if battery is removed and reinserted.

PROGRAMMING UPPER POSITION

• Simultaneously press and hold the Center and Up buttons until Shade completes a quick up/down motion. This will require the buttons to be pressed for about 5 seconds. The light on the Remote will begin blinking when the buttons are released to acknowledge that the Remote is in program mode.

• Pull Shade bottom rail downward at least 5" to select Shade. Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is ready to learn a new position.

• Press the Up or Down buttons on remote to move Shade bottom rail to the desired position.

• Press and hold the Center button until Shade makes a quick up/down movement. This should take about 5 seconds. The light on the remote will stop blinking.

PROGRAMMING USER POSITION

• Simultaneously press and hold the Up and Down buttons until Shade completes a quick up/down motion. This will require the buttons to be pressed for about 5 seconds. The light on the Remote will begin blinking when the buttons are released to acknowledge that the Remote is in program mode.

• Pull Shade bottom rail down at least 5" to select Shade and cause it to enter program mode. Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is selected and has entered program mode.

• Press the Up or Down buttons on remote to move Shade bottom rail to the desired position. User position must be set between the Upper and Lower positions or it will automatically default to a position in between the Upper and Lower positions when it is saved.

• Press and hold the Center button until shade makes a quick up/down movement. This should take about 5 seconds. The light on the Remote will stop blinking.

• Pull Shade bottom rail down at least 5" to select Shade and cause it to enter program mode. Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is selected and has entered program mode.

• Pull the bottom rail downward to the desired position. If you pull the bottom rail too far, you may raise it in incremental steps by tapping the Up button.

• Press and hold the Center button until Shade makes a quick up/down movement. This should take about 5 seconds. The light on the Remote will stop blinking.

OPERATING SHADE WITH REMOTE

• Press and release Up button: pressing the Up button for less than 1 second will cause Cellular Shade to automatically move to the upper position.

• Press and release Center button: pressing the Center button for less than 1 second will cause Shade to automatically move to the user defined position that has been programmed by the user.

• Press and release Down button: pressing the Down button for less than 1 second will cause Shade to automatically move to the Lower position that has been programmed by the user.

• While Shade is moving, pressing any button on Remote will cause movement to stop.

ADD A REMOTE IF NO OTHER REMOTE IS SYNCED TO CELLULAR SHADE

• Remove Cellular Shade’s front cover by pulling outward and upward from the bottom front lip of the cover.

• Remove and reinstall one of the batteries to cycle power to Cellular Shade. Shade will enter sync mode for 60 seconds.

• Press and hold the Up button on remote until Cellular Shade completes a quick up/down motion. Cellular Shade will then move to top.

• Replace the front cover.



ADD AN ADDITIONAL REMOTE OR DELETE A REMOTE

These procedures may be used to sync or delete a Remote from Cellular Shade. A total of 12 Remotes may be synced to cellular shade.

• Press Up button on Remote to move Cellular Shade to upper position.

• Press and hold the Up button on Remote until Cellular Shade begins to move down, then release.

• Once Cellular Shade stops, pull the bottom rail down at least 6". Cellular Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge it is in sync mode.

— To add a new remote, press and hold the Up button on the new Remote until Cellular Shade completes a quick up/down motion to acknowledge new Remote was successfully synced. Cellular Shade will then move to the top.

— To delete a Remote, press and hold the Down button on remote until Cellular Shade completes a quick up/down motion to acknowledge Remote was successfully deleted. Cellular Shade will then move to the top.

FACTORY RESET

This procedure will reset Cellular Shade to factory default conditions. All Remotes will be removed from Cellular Shade memory and all positions will be restored to the original settings from the factory.

• Press the Up button to move Cellular Shade to Upper position.

• Press and hold the Up button and Cellular Shade will begin moving down. Continue to hold the Up button until Cellular Shade reverses direction and begins to move up, then release the Up button. Cellular Shade will stop moving about 12" from the top.

• Immediately pull bottom rail down at least 6". Cellular Shade will complete a quick up/down motion to acknowledge that factory reset was successful



TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM

SHADE is moving slowly.

SHADE will not move.

SHADE will not sync to BRIDGE.

Bottom rail is not level.

CAUSE AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION

Batteries are low. Replace batteries.

SHADE may be in sync or program mode. Wait 60 seconds and SHADE should exit mode.

Motor controller is disengaged. Remove front cover and slide motor controller over to engage spool drive shaft.

Batteries are dead in SHADE or REMOTE. If REMOTE light does not come on when buttons are pressed, replace batteries in REMOTE. Otherwise, replace SHADE batteries.

SHADE is out of range of BRIDGE. Move BRIDGE closer to SHADE.

BRIDGE has not been synced to compatible security or home automation system. Sync BRIDGE to system first, then sync SHADE to BRIDGE.

SHADE strings are not evenly tensioned. Move SHADE to lower position and then to upper position. If this does not level the bottom rail, remove and reinsert a battery and then press and hold the Up button on REMOTE until SHADE moves all the way to the top.
