ROSA PARKS – Saturday, June 6, 2015 For Rosa Parks’ eighth and final day of Super Science Saturdays, ADAC started us off by hosting a “conocimiento” mingle for all Rosa Parks, Oxford and Thousand Oaks parents as they dropped off their kids. More than 30 of our parents mingled and built community over coffee and bagels. After half an hour of Chromebook activities and post-program surveys, all the students came together for one final program-wide design-challenge engineering project: RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINES Students were given a wide range of materials to design and build a complicated machine that could complete the simple task of getting the empty water bottle into the recycling bin without using their hands. Students in all grades collaborated with each other to come up with creative solutions before building and testing their designs. The Lawrence Hall of Science came to run their “Wizard’s Lab” festival. Students learned about the science behind many magic tricks and illusions. Up Next: See you next year!

ROSA PARKS – Saturday, June 6, 2015

For Rosa Parks’ eighth and final day of Super Science Saturdays, ADAC started us off by hosting a “conocimiento” mingle for all Rosa Parks, Oxford and Thousand Oaks parents as they dropped off their kids. More than 30 of our parents mingled and built community over coffee and bagels.

After half an hour of Chromebook activities and post-program surveys, all the students came together for one final program-wide design-challenge engineering project:

RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINES

Students were given a wide range of materials to design and build a complicated machine that could complete the simple task of getting the empty water bottle into the recycling bin without using their hands. Students in all grades collaborated with each other to come up with creative solutions before building and testing their designs.

The Lawrence Hall of Science came to run their “Wizard’s Lab” festival. Students learned about the science behind many magic tricks and illusions.

Up Next: See you next year!
