Setting Up Grant Account
RI prefers Grant Account in project country
Need strong argument for keeping funds in
the US
International Club can still be involved in
overseeing payments
Account must be separate and under Club
control

RI application Online—rolling deadline
DG and DRFC authorize DDF and DRFC
confirms Club is qualified: grant is submitted
RI Advisor identifies required changes or
additional information
Applications go through double review at RI

Global Grant Application
Once Grant is approved:
RI notifies sponsors when grant is approved
DDF is accessed upon approval
Grant sponsors advise supporting clubs that
cash contributions should be paid
RI will pay grant when all cash is collected

Pay TRF or Grant Account?
Cash payments made to TRF:
• 5% administrative charge
• Donor gets Paul Harris points; takes more time
Cash payments direct to Grant Account:
• No processing fee
• No Paul Harris points
• Likely wire fees/ currency charges
