From the Managing Director
Welcome Fire supporters, players and families to Stockland Stadium for the 2014 NPL Senior Round 8. I also extend a warm welcome to the Brisbane City, Brisbane Roar and Far North Queensland FC players, staff and supporters who have travelled here today.
Today we will have the opportunity to see some of our younger teams take to the Stadium pitch for the first time this season. The Under 15 Girls will kick-off at 10:00am against Brisbane City, which is sure to be a great game. Our Under 15 Girls are a strong team, the squad has only lost one of their last seven matches and, under the guidance of Jarrod Rodios, are a force to be reckoned with in the league.
The Under 15 Boys will take on Brisbane Roar WWL at 12:00pm, a team they met in Round 7 as well. The game will be a great opportunity to see the talented young players who are coming through in women’s football in Queensland, and also a chance to watch our formidable Under 15 Boys team in action. The squad has been in good form winning their last four matches convincingly.
Our young First Team continues to develop, albeit with some ups and downs, and will test themselves against FNQFC today. It promises to be an exciting game and the boys will be looking to secure three points after losses in Round s 6 and 7.
Enjoy today’s football!
Warm regards,
Noel Woodall Managing Director Sunshine Coast FC

From the First Team Coach/ Technical Director of Coaching
Welcome everyone to Stockland Stadium for today’s fixtures. We kick off today with our U15 Girls team coached by Jarrod Rodios, who will take on Brisbane City. I have been very impressed with the brand of football Jarrod is seeking to get the girls to play. They possess a mature backline, players that can influence the game in midfield and goals aplenty in the front line. I am looking forward to seeing them play on the Stadium pitch for the first time this season. We also welcome the Brisbane Roar WWL squad to the Stadium today. The BRFCWWL is competing in the NPL U15 Boys division and whilst they are wearing the Brisbane Roar jersey it is important to be mindful that the squad is very much a development squad, not necessarily the actual team that plays in the W-League. They will face our Fire Under 15 team coached by Daniel Carew. In this squad we have a number of very promising players. The team have scored no less than 43 goals in 7 games which has been a very encouraging start to the season. Our first team will be back in action against an improving Far North Queensland Heat. They have Smith (a former A-League player) and Carroll in their squad, two very attack-minded players with a lot of quality in and around the final 3rd. FNQFC played Redlands and was unfortunate to concede a late equaliser against them, so again it will be a test for us. We are showing promising signs of improvement in particular with our ball possession. Inconsistency is still a major area we are addressing however it is important to remember we only have two players who would be traditionally classed as “senior players”. Everyone else is still finding their feet at NPL level. I could not be more proud of their effort, they have a real willingness to learn and do their best for each other and the Club which as a coach is all you can ask. Enjoys today’s games!
