This report covers a humic geochemical survey carried out in 1985 on a

l. INTRODUCTION

in Carman township. This survey was carried out as a potential aid in

choosing areas for future trenching and/or diamond drilling.

2. LOCATION AND ACCESS

The Carman-Guy Property is located in Carman township, Porcupine

Mining Division, Ontario and within the boundaries of the City of

Timmins. Access is gained to the property via the all weather

l Langmuir Mine Road from South Porcupine, which crosses the Langmuir

Eldorado township Line 1000' south of the property. On the claims

m access is reasonable using several old cutting roads.

^ The Carman-Guy Property consists of 9 contiguous unpatented mining

H claims's staked in May 1985 by Ken Guy. Claim numbers as follows.

4. HUMIC GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY

a) General:

During October 1985, 384 humic samples were collected on the Carman-

Guy property. The samples were taken along the northwesterly grid

lines previously established for geological mapping and geophysical

surveys. Areas of extensive outcrop and l or wet ground were usually

the cause of no sample locations. The samples were collected by

digging a hole through the forest litter to the highly decomposed

humus horizon. After the samples were air dried, they were shipped to

X-Ray Assay Laboratories Ltd., Don Mills, Ontario for analysis. The

samples were analyzed for Au, Gr, Co, Zn, As, Se, Br, Mo, Sb, Ba, Ta,

W, Th and U by Neutron Activation. One batch of 65 samples was also

analyzed for Fe2! and Ag as well as the above 14 elements.

b) Discussion of results;

The gold humic values in ppb's were plotted in plan form on Map l and

contoured at 10 ppb's. The Arsenic values were also plotted on Map 1.

The other elements are present in list form in Appendix 2.

As can be seen on Map l , the Au humic survey has outlined two areas of

anomalous gold values. One area is between lines 1200E and 1550E and

the other between lines 400-600E. The eastern most area is the

priority one target as it is the area with the strongest geochemical

response associated with highly carbonatized and sericitized felsic

and mafic volcanics known to be carrying auriferous quartz-carbonate

veins. The other area to the west is completely covered by overburden

so no information on rock types or the possible source of the

anomalies is available.

As can be seen on Map l, the humic geochemical survey has outlined

high geochemistry should have further work carried out over them

including trenching, detail prospecting and possible detailed humic

sampling.
