1993 RSA designs Movable Barrier Floodwall System (“MBFS”)

1999 ACOE offers Cooperative Research and Development agreement to RSA. RSA declines as ACOE requests RSA to redesign MBFS into a Counter-Terrorist

Blast Wall. RSA agrees and begins a 17 year career in counter-terrorism

2001 ACOE introduces MBFS concept to Louisiana Department of Natural Resources as a reclamation Marsh Management device to prevent salt rich water

from the Gulf of Mexico from entering the bayou. The system required a redesign to raise/lower to selective heights. The original MBFS was a full up

or fully stowed invention.

2002 RSA designs Adler Buoyant Hydraulic Gate System (“ABHGS”). A vertically rising wall floating/lowering through pneumatic means. During ACOE town

hall meeting in Lafayette, Louisiana local residents warned if their water flow is blocked they would shoot at the invention. That would puncture the

flood walls rendering the invention ineffective. The redesigned MBFS, a vertical rising wall utilizing hydraulics or electric motor substitutes for ABHGS.

Patent on Movable Barrier Wall is issued.

2002-2003 RSA designs, fabricates and tests the Adler Automated Metering Gate (“AAMG”). A modified radial gate that rotates in either overshot or undershot

modes to substitute for the ABHGS. Test is successful. White paper published and LDNR accepts as new ABHGS.

2002 Jacobs Civil peer reviews AAMG for spillway of Wanupum Dam, Washington State for client Grant County PUD.

2004 Louisiana Department of Natural Resources and USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service sole sources AAMG for replacement of structures in

East Mud Lake, Louisiana. Contract goes to bid but rejected as too expensive due to transport costs of AAMG to site.

2012 Hurricane Sandy strikes East Coast. RSA designs RSA Removable Barrier Floodwall System with Rick Ellman, partner in Mueser Rutledge Consulting

Engineers as co-inventor. Patent is issued in 2017. RSA proposes design as temporary removable hurricane barrier flood wall system for construction sites.

2013 RSA contracted by MTA NYCT for Subway Stairwell and Subway Sidewalk Ventilation Removable Flood Covers. Both Patents issued 2016. Both

products designed, tested in California, freighted to New York retested at site with tests passed. Product produced by RSA and delivered to client.

2013 RSA contracted by NYCEDC to design and deliver Rapid Deployable Tunnel Closure for Staten Island Siphon Tunnel. Project completed.

2016 RSA contracted by ConEd, NYC Power Company to design and fabricate oil/water separator vault removable flood covers

2016 RSA redesigns and fabricates working 1:5 scale model of Movable Barrier Floodwall System. Seven provisional patents applied for. MBFS designs

2017 shared with FEMA and DHS Directorate of Science & Technology. Positive review with possible funding for test. Applications range from levee

extensions, shorelines, public/private facilities, public/private housing and riverine applications.
