INDEPENDENT CLAUSE (IC)

• A sentence that contains a subject, a verb, and expresses a complete thought.

Susan trained for the marathon.

She runs three miles a day.

Dependant Clause (DC)

• A sentence that contains a subject and a verb, but does not express a complete thought.
