Ensuring the Future of Medical Excellence in Bundaberg Rural Clinical School The University of Queensland Rural Clinical Schools offer quality medical education and training across four beautiful rural Queensland communities: Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton and Toowoomba. The rural clinical experience is a special one which sees students embraced by their placement communities and encouraged to continue their medical training and careers in rural and remote areas. However, these students often face additional financial challenges compared to their urban counterparts. Travel costs from rural and remote locations to attend conferences, sit exams or visit family, as well as housing and accommodation costs can pose a difficult burden. For some, tuition costs and other expenses impact their abilities to successfully complete their rural medical education. Help us ensure the future of medical education and care in Bundaberg through the rural student scholarship endowment.

Ensuring the Future of Medical Excellence in BundabergRural Clinical School

The University of Queensland Rural Clinical Schools offer quality medical education and training across four beautiful rural Queensland communities: Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.

HELP BUILD THE BUNDABERG RURAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT

UQ’s Faculty of Medicine is working to create scholarship endowments for rural clinical students to help them achieve their educational dreams. These scholarships will also ultimately help improve access to medical care for rural and remote residents by increasing the number of practitioners in those areas.

Endowments are unique philanthropic models designed to provide consistent, reliable funding into the future. The initial investment (the principal) is never utilised, allowing the fund to exist and grow in perpetuity. The interest generated by the principal investment is used to fund student scholarships for travel, accommodation, tuition assistance and other critical needs. As the endowment grows, so will the scholarships.

The scholarships will support and encourage students to continue their rural training in the Bundaberg region, and hopefully many will choose to stay right here in Bundaberg caring for our friends, family members, neighbours and loved ones.

MAKE YOUR GIFT TODAY • We need your help to build scholarship endowments for medical students living and learning in the Bundaberg region. Your tax-deductible donation will help provide travel, tuition and accommodation scholarships for deserving students interested in rural and remote medicine. You can make a gift by cheque, credit card, bank transfer or by donating online at: bit.ly/health-scholarship-bundaberg

Multi-year pledges are also welcome as they help us plan future funding.
