About RSMF• Founded in 2012 as the “LIBOR Hedge Fund Live Desk” by a group of 8

LIBOR members – later renamed to “Rutgers Student Managed Fund” (RSMF)

• The fund is supported by a number of equity research teams distinguished by sectors◦ Each team is led by a senior analyst supported by a number of junior analysts◦ Senior analysts are experienced RSMF members who are able to mentor and

guide junior analysts

• RSMF provides members an opportunity to expand their knowledge and analyze companies using both qualitative and quantitative approaches

Schedule Description• Teaching Days: Mandatory for new members and junior analysts.

• Speaker Series: Mandatory for all members.

• Initial Pitches, Refined Pitches, and Final Pitch are on Saturdays◦ Alumni participation in Refined Pitches and Final Pitches

• 2 Initial Pitches – Qualitative in nature. No model required.

• 1 Refined Pitch – Pick 1 company from the initial pitch and build model out. Will be pitched/distributed to Devil’s Advocate Committee (DAC) for review and feedback

• 1 Final Pitch – Make any necessary corrections to refined pitch. Intended to be presented to Rutgers alumni.

Junior Analysts• This is supposed to be a very strong learning experience – unfortunately that

also comes with more work

• Expected to perform most of the quantitative and qualitative analysis – aka. Building the model and the assumptions◦ However, do not hesitate to ask your senior analysts for help or if you have any

questions

• Performance◦ Underperforming junior analysts may be asked to leave the fund◦ Over performing junior analysts may receive rewards and/or incentives (TBD)

Junior Analysts - Expectations• Attend all scheduled meetings and teaching days on time

• Perform to the level asked of you by your senior analyst and/or portfolio managers
