There are several things that make me different from

everyone else: I am a leader, and I strive to get the most out of everyone that interacts

with me. I expect the best and try to push everyone to reach their full potential in anything I pursue. I

find success in making everyone around me better. No matter the obstacle or task, I try to help others to achieve

greatness. When there is a task that I must complete, I always get the job done. I do my very best to complete each assignment

or goal. I don’t hesitate from going the extra mile to achieve success. I do what is expected and more in everything that I do.

While pursuing my goals or completing a task, I am the last person to complain. I do what is asked of me and do not question why. When it comes to being successful, I know how to win and do it right. I have been successful in many things in my life and

handle each properly. I do not dwell on my success but look to the next thing to be successful at. One of the most

important things to me that separates me from others is doing the little things. Whether it is lifting before practice or paying attention to small details in a

task. I take pride in doing the little things, because some times theses are the most

important parts of a goal or assignment.

Colors that describe me: Tin, Cayenne & Mercury

Page 6: Ryan Hathaway's Brand Manual

Mercury: When I look at mercury I see a professional color. I feel Mercury represents a person who knows what He want and is willing to do whatever it takes to reach those goals

Tin: To me the color Tin shows a solid person who helps others. The name also represents someone who watches over others and protects them. The metal tin can be used on roofs or to help protect something.

Cayenne: I chose this color because when I look at it I see strength. It is a strong color that represents a leader and someone who is always in pursuit of greatness.

There are many benefits of the brand Ryan Hathaway. Being a student-athlete at the University of Charleston teaches me to balance my time everyday. I feel that I am taking advantage of this

time at UC to better myself and others around me. I am currently majoring in sport administration and maintain a 3.2 gpa. In the major we are doing assignments and projects that include, un-branding a product, sports for social change, media guides and putting events on for

teams at UC. The major also includes many other projects every semester. In addition to the projects, we are learning valuable information to use in our careers in the sports industry. At

UC I am an active member of SAAC. We are currently working on our “Hot Sauce Awards Show” for the end of year. Also At UC I have done over 20 hours of volunteer hours this semester that

include running concession stands at home basketball games, line judging for volleyball games and helping raise money for make-a-wish with SAAC. I am currently in the process of being a mentor at Horace Mann Middle School. The goal of this is to help under privileged children in

class and be a positive influence to them. In addition to my academics, I am the center fielder for the UC baseball team. In the summer of 2011 I have been invited to play in the Valley Baseball League for college baseball players. The Valley league is one of the best leagues in the nation.

Outside of UC I have worked for 7 years at Hathaway LLC our family farm and fencing company. This physical labor job provides challenges everyday. It pushes me to the limit everyday and

teaches me to work hard and be thankful for everything I have.

When not at work or playing baseball I have over seven years of coaching experience. I have personally worked out five baseball players from age 13 to 17 for the last

three summers, three of which have hit over .500 for the summer on their respected team. I work with the my high school and legion team I

participated on. Also I have coached basketball tournaments and during winter break I work with the varsity basketball team at my high school. Overall, I feel

very strongly about helping others reach their full potential. I am very positive

influence and have a knack for getting the best out of

each player I work with.

Page 3 - Many of the things you have listed as your USP are not even uniquecompared to the other students in SPAD 301, let alone those you'll becompeting against in the job market. The only ones I think you can keep (andits explanation) are the one about making others better and getting the mostout of them, doing the little things, and not complaining. You can relate thelast one to the perception of your generation and how you're NOT that. Winner, goes the extra mile, gets the job done, leader---MANY other studentsdo those things.

Benefits isn't a bio section. This whole thing needs re-written for thisproject. Copy it and save it in a file. You can use pieces and parts of itfor cover letters, grad school applications, etc. I think you need tore-evaluate your features and make sure they're truly features and not justpersonality descriptors.

For example, if your feature is that you're creative then the benefit of beingcreative would look something like this: I draw from multiple sources andbuild ideas quickly in brainstorming sessions, ideas that are unique. Theseideas will stand out as new solutions and creative problem solving. Orsomething similar.

For your advancing the brand piece, those are things that any student-athleteshould do just by definition of being a student-athlete. You need to havedifferent items or be MUCH more specific.
