WORK EXPERIENCE

M/Y Atlante 55m CRN (04/2016 – 10/2016)

I was employed on MY ATLANTE for the 2016 summer season. The boat was finishing off a maintenance/warranty period in Livorno when I joined, and we spent 3 weeks in the ship yard. The summer season was spent cruising the south of France, Balerics, Italy, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica. Atlante is an extremely busy private yacht. I gained a huge amount of experience driving the two 9 metre tenders, as well as all of the sports equipment (jet ski, stand up, sea bobs, jet surf, Diving gear, wakeboarding, SUP). I was involved in watchkeeping when ever underway, and was involved in every operation on deck such as anchoring and lifting operations.

M/Y Atlantic Goose 45M Toughs (10/2014 – 04/2016)

I was employed on MY Atlantic Goose for 1, 5 years. In this time, we have done two full refit periods in Palma De Mallorca, various trips with the owner around the South of Spain, and a very busy summer charter season in the Adriatic. I am the senior of the two deckhands, and have gained very good maintenance experience particularly in Awlgrip varnish systems and treating corrosion and painting. During the summer season I was the water sport instructor, and in charge of various aspects of operations. I was the main tender driver for guests, and have gained a lot of experience on the two tenders (7 m hard hull, and 6M RIB) and jet ski on board, as well as various toys such as seabobs and the boats diving equipment. While underway on Atlantic Goose I was actively involved in Watchkeeping and given a large amount of time in the bridge and was often given the watch under supervision of the captain or first officer. I have also gained experience in doing admiralty chart corrections, working with ISM procedures and controlling inventories of deck equipment.

M/Y Kamalaya 55M Amels I stayed on board for 3 nights, and I was involved in scrubbing teak, washdowns, polishing, line handling. Called back on 4 occasions for help with turn arounds.

M/Y Apache 2 45M Baglietto: I helped with two turn around days between charters, washing down the boat and detailing.

M/Y Harle 45M Feadship: I helped M/Y Harle prepare the boat for charter on two occasions in Monaco. Mainly washing down and detailing.

S/Y Valquest 55M: I worked with S/Y Valquest at the end of a minor maintenance period in Antibes for two weeks, and was involved in washing down and polishing.

M/Y Turquoise 55M Proteksan: I was involved in polishing stainless, washing down, for 2 days.

S/Y Genie 27M Wally: I was involved in Cleaning and treating Teak Decks on the Sail Yacht and the 14M tender and washing down, for 2 days.

M/Y Galaxy 55M Benetti: M/Y Galaxy provided an apartment for myself, and another crew member for 8 days, I was involved in sanding and treating teak decks and rails, Washing down, Detailing, Re-fitting seals, Painting and line handling, I was called back for a day in Genova, and then again for a day in Monaco.

Experience (land based):

Mulderbosch Vineyards (2011 – 2012)

My role was waiting tables, as well as presenting wine tastings to clients, where I would have to explain different varietals and methods of production of the wines. I was very involved with sales and distribution. I was involved in controlling inventory levels and building and managing relationships with suppliers and clients.

IML – Imperial Managed Logistics (2 years)

My role in the company was as an operations controller. I was heavily involved in the planning and scheduling, as well as providing detailed reports to clients.
