Members of the public are invited to attend this year’s Civic ANZAC Day Memorial Service to be held at the Cenotaph, Memorial Park, Tauranga commencing at 9.00am.
All groups wishing to participate in the parade and march, please assemble at 8.30am adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre.
(You may wish to consider wearing ear protection for the Firing of Volleys.)
Wreaths
Any organisation or group wanting to lay a wreath during the service, please contact the Tauranga Army Offi ce, phone 578 8139 with details of your organisation.
Wreaths laid during the service will be left at the Cenotaph until dusk on ANZAC Day evening and will then be removed. Organisations may collect their wreaths from Baycourt Community and Arts Centre, 38 Durham Street, from Monday 26 April onwards. Wreaths not collected by 5.00pm on Friday 30 April will be disposed of.
Wet Weather
In the event of wet weather the service will be transferred to the Tauranga Boys College Gymnasium. This will be broadcast on local radio stations on the morning of 25 April. As this is a sporting venue please be mindful of your footwear. Non marking, soft soled, shoes would be appreciated.
