Bay of Plenty artist Owen Dippie is hoping his latest

aerosol art will help get him to New York

in May.

Owen has completed these works: a portrait of Laughton from the band Kora, a steam train and a Brazilian carnival mask as a promo for the Te Puke kiwifruit festival.

The Kora portrait was spray painted on the side of Maunganui Road out-side a mate’s place where he has been staying.

He’s planning on returning to New York in May and he needs to sell paintings to help pay for the trip. His last trip was in 2008.

“I will be painting up a storm. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere. It’s an awe-some place and I made some wicked contacts.”
