Remember to thank a veteran on Veteran’s Day November 11, 2017.

This month’s word of “Word-Association” is “packing.” Ok, what comes to mind? Recently for Lisa and I it meant the house! We sold our home and downsized so now we are going through the unpacking stage! As you receive this newsletter I will be packing for a hiking trip with my son, Logan. We are going to West Texas to climb the tallest peak in the state at the Guadalupe Mountains State Park. And then there are shoeboxes! Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes! I hope you are packing a shoebox this year, maybe even a few of them. It’s a small box that opens the door of opportunity to share the love of Jesus with a child. And as I mentioned at the Annual Meeting, I have the thrill and privilege of being able to go on a distribution trip with Samaritan’s Purse at the end of January to Ecuador. We will be handing out shoeboxes to children there. Remember as you see in the newsletter, the times we will be open to collect your shoeboxes, and note the other locations for you in case you don’t want to come all the way in to Victoria. “Packing” a lot of meaning in that word!

Each Monday we have 2 classes of the South Texas School of Christian Studies meeting at the GBA. One class meets on Tuesday evenings. And on Thursday evenings a group of young men known as the Young Guns are having Bible Study at the GBA.
