DESCRIPTION

Our proposal recognizes the Gothic Revival period as a source for architectural interpretation and a boundary for meeting our client's needs and aspirations. Situated in one of the most affluent residential districts in the United States, the renovation establishes its original grandeur with an eye on our present cultural tradition that holds dear urban characteristics that should be maintained. Five levels contain a basement four car garage, two lower level apartments, a two level three bedroom apartment, and a two bedroom penthouse. Each apartment utilizes exterior spaces, new and existing, while embellishing each room with custom cabinetry and detailing. Ceiling configurations enhance volummetric symmetry and diffracted northern sunlight is captured at the penthouse level with new gabled roofs aligned on its face. Design completed in 2013, project unbuilt.
