Do you have an hour or two each week to help the Pantry? Recently we began direct food pickups at some area retail grocers and as such our team is in need of some extra drivers. Most of our donations can be picked up utilizing a large sedan but should you have a truck, SUV or van it would be very helpful. Declaración de la Parroquia de la Misión

MENASJE DE LA SEMANA: Hemos terminado las Grandes Fiestas de nuestra fe cristiana (Semana Santa, Pascua, Pentecostés, Santísima Trinidad, Corpus Christi) y este domingo nos pone tras las huellas del Maestro, Jesús de Nazaret, para participar en su Escuela, y aquello que hemos descubierto, irlo madurando y profundizando en el caminar de cada día. También Hoy, nos encontramos con una Sorpresa: según Jesús, Dios es alguien preocupado por nosotros, y aunque las apariencias indiquen que pa-rece que estamos abocados al fracaso, eso no es verdad. Dios ha arrebatado a Jesús de las garras de la muerte y le concede una vida en plenitud, como regalo a su fidelidad sin límites. Esta misma suerte es la que desea para cada uno de nosotros. La misma Palabra de Dios que hemos escuchado nos habla, precisamente, de la Vida, ésa que Dios nos ofrece gratuita-mente. Él, en Jesús, nos libera de la esclavitud del pecado y de la muerte, y nos invita a participar plenamente de su misma vida divina, la que siempre ha soñado para nosotros. ¿Qué espera de nosotros? ¿A qué nos llama? A corresponder a su don apostando en favor de la Vida, la que nuestro mundo y nuestro entorno más inmediato necesita. Esto conlleva denunciar todas y cada una de las violaciones que se cometan contra la vida. Es preciso responsabilizarnos de la defensa de sus derechos y colaborar con todos aquellas fuerzas políticas y sociales que se comprometen en este empeño. Y, además, supone ser conscientes de que sólo se ama la vida, cuando se vive con sentido y se hacen presentes en ella los valores evangélicos; sólo se gana la vida cuando se pierde y se entrega por los demás. Es la inmensa y exigente Propuesta de Jesús. Lo que gratis hemos recibido, estamos invitados a darlo gratis. ¡Dichosos los que creen en el Dios “amigo de la vida”, porque sabrán entregarla por los demás y serán una Bendición para nuestro mundo!

9 de Junio del 2013 † Decimo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario IX Inscripciones para el año escolar del 2013-2014 para

niños de Kinder hasta Octavo Grado. La Educación Religiosa para niños es importante, ya que esa es una de las primeras conexiones de la fe Católica con su identidad como personas lla-madas a vivir la fe. Es donde sus hijos empiezan a entender lo que significa pertenecer a una comunidad de fieles. La Iglesia Católica cree que los padres de familia son los primeros educadores en la fe de sus hijos y que el papel de la parroquia es ayudarles y apoyarles. Por lo tanto, los

invitamos a que inscriban a su hijo(s) en nuestro programa de la Misión Basílica para este año escolar. La oficina está abierta de lunes a viernes de 9:00 de la mañana a las 5:00 de la tarde. Las clases dan inicio en Septiembre. Ya estamos tomando inscripciones y estamos ofreciendo un descuento si lo hace antes del 8 de julio. El descuento aplica para personas que paguen la cuota total el día de inscripción. Sin embargo, ayuda financiera puede ser una opción para fa-milias de bajos recursos bajo circunstancias especiales. JUNIO Redescubrir la Eucaristía: celebración y adoración

Meditación Deseamos que este Año suscite en todo creyente la aspiración a confesar la fe con plenitud y renovada convicción, con confianza y esperanza. Será también una ocasión propi-cia para intensificar la celebración de la fe en la liturgia, y de modo particular en la Eucaris-tía, que es la cumbre a la que tiende la acción de la Iglesia y también la fuente de donde ma-na toda su fuerza. Sin la liturgia, la profesión de fe no tendría eficacia, pues carecería de la gracia que sostiene el testimonio de los cristianos (ver Benedicto XVI, La puerta de la fe, 9, 11). Es muy providencial que junio abre, en este Año de la Fe, con la solemnidad del Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo (Corpus Christi). Los evangelios dominicales de junio muestran a Jesús dando consuelo a los afligidos y perdonando el pecado, predicando su pasión salvífica y ofreciendo el desafío a sus discípulos aspirantes a cargar la cruz cada día y seguirlo. Pero el discipulado fiel es imposible sin la gracia que proviene del sacrificio eucarístico de Cristo, sin el consuelo de la presencia perdurable de Jesús en la Eucaristía. Por eso, junio se convierte en una oportunidad llena de gracia para renovar nuestro aprecio de las dimensiones múltiples de la Eucaristía redescubriendo las riquezas de las enseñanzas de la Iglesia: la Eucaristía como sacrificio y ban-quete pascual (Catecismo de la Iglesia católica, 1322–1372, 1382–1390; Compendio, 271, 275, 280–281; YouCat, 212); la Presencia Real de Cristo (Catecismo, 1373–1381; Compendio, 282–283; YouCat, 216–218); la participación llena, consciente y activa (interna y externa) (Constitución sobre la Sagrada Liturgia, 14; Catecismo, 1345–1355); frutos de la Eucaristía en nuestras vidas personales y comunitarias (Catecismo, 1391–1401); y la Eucaristía como la promesa de la gloria futura (Catecismo, 1402–1405).

Misión Estudiar las enseñanzas de la Iglesia sobre la Eucaristía; prepararse con oración para la Misa dominical (o ca-da día de la semana); y dedicar un tiempo cada semana a la adoración eucarística.
