Sacred Heart Parish Outreach Program

The Outreach Office is open Tuesdays’ & Thursdays from 10am to 2pm.

All monies received directly benefit the needy of the Green Cove and Fleming Island areas. We are staffed by all volunteers from our Sacred Heart Parish. The Sacred Heart Outreach Ministry was developed in 2003 to meet the growing needs of the Green Cove Springs and Fleming Island communi es and Sacred heart parishioners when emergencies arise and a family cannot financially provide for their immediate needs. Our commitment is to treat clients with compassion and dignity as their individual situa ons are evaluated and addressed. Our focus is to help in crisis situa ons such as hospi-taliza on, unexpected job loss, incidents of abuse, death or separa on from the primary family provider. Our goal is to assist clients in emergency situa ons to help a return to stability. Sacred Heart Outreach has three big challenges: 1st Find and train volunteers, to staff the office 2nd Find extra volunteers to help out at the Gi Shop 3rd Increase our funding to ensure that we can meet the current and future needs in the area

CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD We are nearing the end of the liturgical year. Today’s readings remind us that our own lives will draw to a close one day, and we can be certain that the Lord will encour-age, strengthen, and save us—both now and at the last. The astonishing story of the Maccabees invigorates our faith as we behold an en re family willing to die rather than deny the Law of Moses. The psalm response echoes the faithful cries of the Maccabees: “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.” That same confidence ap-pears in Saint Paul’s le er to the Thessalonians. “The Lord is faithful,” he tes fies; “he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.” In the Gospel, Jesus ex-plains just how long God’s protec on will endure. The children of God whom God guards, Jesus says, will live forever like angels. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

The Parish Office will be closed for Veterans Day, Monday, November 11th, as our nation honors those who serve and have served our country.

Mass will be at 8:00 am.
