Bible Study Every time we attend Mass, we hear beautiful readings from the Sacred Scriptures. Would you like to go

deeper and have the opportunity to read and discuss the Bible? The Wednesday night group is currently

reading and discussing the Old Testament Book of Exodus. Feel free to come and join us on Wednesday

nights at 6:30pm in the Church Hall. All are welcome!

Bulletin Column for Trinity Sunday

We are known only insofar as we wish to be known. We reveal ourselves to others out of love, out of relationship, out of

a desire to be connected with others.

In his great work, The Confessions, Saint Augustine says, “Lord, you know me. Let me know you. Let me come to know

you even as I am known.” It is through the desire of the human heart that the Lord works. You see, in every man, woman, and

child there is a fundamental desire for God and for knowledge of God.

God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, reveals himself to us in , by, and through human history to accomplish his work of

salvation. The Incarnation and the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost are events initiated by the Father, through the Son, and

with the Holy Spirit, each person having full and complete knowledge of the other. This is perfect relationship. This is perfect

communion. This is perfect love.

It is the desire of our Trinitarian God to communicate this perfection of relationship and love to His creation, giving us a

glimpse of what awaits us in eternal life with Him.

Our faith in the Son of God is strengthened and nourished by the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us at Pentecost. This is

confirmed by the Second Vatican Council document, “Lumen Gentium,” which states, “when the Son completed the work with

which the Father entrusted him, the Holy Spirit was sent to sanctify the Church unceasingly.” The Holy Spirit continues the mis-

sion of Jesus by sanctifying and unifying the Mystical Body of Christ, the Church.

The Trinity, our one God in three divine persons, is a God of perfect relationship built on perfect love. We are able to

enter into relationship with our triune God each time we receive the Eucharist and receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of

Jesus Christ, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each time we fully participate in the Eucharist, we receive a foretaste of that perfect

relationship which awaits us.

God bless you all,

Fr. Guy

Archdiocesan Guidelines for Parish Reopening

If you can bring your own bottle of hand sanitizer to the church, you should. Otherwise, sanitizer will be provided

by the parish and positioned at the entry to the church.

All parishioners need to wear masks, except for the following exceptions:

Children under the age of two should not wear masks.

Parents should judge for children between the ages of two and five whether they should wear a mask.

All people who claim an exemption because of health can forego wearing a mask. They do not have

to provide documentation.

The priest and others with him in the sanctuary do not need to wear masks in the sanctuary as long as

strict socially distancing is maintained. They do have to wear masks when assisting with the distribu-

tion of Holy Communion.

DURING MASS

There will be no processions at the Masses, including no offertory processions.

There should be no altar servers

Choirs will not be allowed (Cantor, instrumentalist is allowed)

There should be no holding of hands during the Our Father.

There should be no invitation to participate in a sign of peace

FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF HOLY COMMUNION There will be one or two communion stations, depending on the size of the Church

It should be announced that parishioners may well decide not to receive Holy Communion if they feel

the risk is too high, and that decision will be honored and respected.

There will be no distribution of the Precious Blood

The communicants and the priest will wear masks.

Neither the priest nor the communicants should wear gloves during the distribution of Holy

Communion.

Congregants who are not coming forward to receive Hoy Communion or a blessing should still get out

of their pews at the beginning, so that no one will have to climb over anyone else.

The priest will have a table next to him with hand sanitizer.

The priest will hold the consecrated host over the communicants’ outstretched hands without touching

their hands.

Communicants will receive the consecrated host in their hands, step to the side, lower their mask,

consume the host, replace their mask, and return to their pew.

There will be NO distribution of Holy Communion on the tongue and with respect to social

distancing, kneeling for Communion is not permitted.

In the case on unintentional contact, the priest will sanitize his own hands immediately.

If the priest himself is a member of a vulnerable population, a deacon or a trained lay minister should

distribute communion.

The people should return to their pews by a different route, to avoid contact with approaching people.

There will be tape on the floor to show where to stand as a communicant approaches to receive

communion. There will also be tape on the floor to show where to stand to de-mask and consume the

host, and arrows showing how to return to the pews.

There should be a couple of minutes after Communion for silent prayer, before the final prayer and

dismissal.

If a Parish cannot offer Mass safely, following these guidelines and all of the checkboxes on the State docu-

ment, they should not offer Mass.

The Vicars Forane will have regular conversations with the Pastors and will report regularly to the Vicar

General with regard to compliance.
