Principals Message, Congratulations to all students (and parents!) who par- ticipated in our dress ups for Book Week. It is often a stressful morning for busy households, however, it is fun for the children at school. This week we are focusing on careful speech and caring for others. We are asking students to think before they dobon their friends for behaviour which doesn't suit them. We will never condone bullying. However, there is a BIG difference between bullying and having to compromise. Life doesn't always go the way we want and differences can often be resolved without adult intervention. Fathers Day Breakfast This years Fathers Day Breakfast - will be held next Friday 31st August. Proceedings will begin at 7:30am in the Senior room. We are looking for volunteers to help serve the break- fast, if you are available please leave your details with Therese in the office. Vinnies NSW Drought Appeal With 99% of New South Wales affected by drought, Vinnies has launched its NSW Drought Appeal to raise vital funds for rural communites in need. The difficulties and hardships for farmers and their livestock caused by this drought will have ongoing ramifications for the affected communities. Through your kind donation, Vinnies will be involved in the recovery of these communities, helping to keep the hard working farms of the NSW regional area afloat as they care for their land, their livestock and crops, and most im-portantly their families, with financial aid and emotional support.

Attached to today’s newsletter are envelopes to return to the school with your donation, if you are able. Donations can also be made online at www.vinnies.org.au/donate

First Holy Communion Parents are reminded eligible students in Years 3 and 4 are now preparing to receive their First Holy Communion at the end of Week 10, on Sunday 30th September. The ceremony will take place at the 8:30am Mass with celebra-tions continuing with a Morning Tea in the hall at the conclusion of Mass. A Parent meeting to finalize arrangements has been called inviting those families concerned on Wednesday 5th September at 7:30pm in the Senior room, nearest the church.

Student Absence Parents and Carers are reminded it is a legal requirement that Student Absence is informed by a written note. A phone call is much appreciated, please follow this up in writing. If your child’s pickup details change and you send someone who is unknown to the staff, the school needs to be notified. Could you please ring the school and leave a message on our answering machine or send a note into the class teacher or office. If this is an emergency and a different person is collecting your child or children please ask them to come up to a teacher and make themselves known .
