An Ordinary Martyr, the Life and Death of Blessed Stanley Rother, tells the story of a young man born     into a devoted German Catholic family in the small  farming town of Okarche, Oklahoma.  His calling to the priesthood and missionary service led him to Guatemala where he would give his life for his peo‐ple.  This short film captures the heart, devo on and resolu on of Blessed Stanley Rother and the ul mate sacrifice he made for his faith.  You can select An Ordinary Martyr on the FORMED main screen by scrolling down to Movie Night.  To Register! 1. .        HUMILITY   Humility is a virtue we don’t see much in our  mes. It seems that bragging, swaggering, and arrogance domi‐nate our fashion for everything and our Internet conver‐sa ons. Who hasn’t been irritated by the “trolls” who try (usually with bad grammar and poor spelling) to start an online fight with those whose opinions do not align with theirs? Our stores, catalogs, and online shopping sites are full of useless items geared in use and price to the very rich, as ordinary, useful things seem to fade off the sales scene. As the rich get richer, the poor get poorer and the middle class is fading away. What is the an dote to this? Humility is a good place to start. Devo on to God is worth more than riches. “The father of orphans and the defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling. God gives a home to the forsaken; [God] leads forth prisoners to prosperity.”  Copyright © J.                   Marriage Prepara on   Marriage Prepara on: To schedule a wedding, an engaged couple must meet with their parish priest or dea‐con at least eight months before their proposed wedding date. Prep‐ara on for the sacrament includes a ending a dioc‐esan program such as Engaged Encounter or Pre Cana.  Also, couples of child‐bearing age will need to take a full course of Natural Family Planning. Pre‐registra on for each of these programs is mandato‐ry.    The next Engaged Encounter program will be October 4th‐6th at Marywood Retreat Center. The next Pre Cana program will be December 7th  in Jacksonville.  For more informa on about the dioce‐san requirements or to register for any of the dioce‐san programs, please visit www.dcfl.org or call (904) 551‐2619.
