Rescue Boats SurvitecZodiac offers a wide variety of products for search and rescue applications and has been alongside S.A.R. organisations from around the world for over 50 years. Customers appreciate the speed, seaworthiness, shock mitigation, low freeboard, stability and manoeuvrability of Zodiacs when it comes to urgent and arduous rescue operations.

The SurvitecZodiac range of SOLAS approved rescue boats includes Rigid Inflatable Rescue Boats.

RIBO 340This 3.40m boat can be launched using a sling and approved release hook.

SurvitecZodiac RIBO 340 P Sling is a ‘Non SOLAS’ rigid inflated rescue boat capable to crew 5 persons. It refers to EC Directive 2002/35/EC for fishing vessels of 24 meters and over and this is linked to the Torremolinos Convention for fishing vessels that allows Marine Administrations the possibility to accept ‘Non SOLAS’ rescue boat under 3.80m but over 3.30m with a capacity of 5 persons (4 seated, 1 lying).

RIBO 450 This 4.50m, six person boat can be launched using a 4 point sling and approved release hook. It has a righting system and can be fitted with either a 25 or 40HP outboard motor.

RIBO 600This 6.0m boat is equipped with self righting and can be sling launched with an appropriate release hook.

The RIBO 600 has a wheel console with jockey seat, two other jockey seats, extra seating for a further two people and additional space for a full stretcher. The 600 has been designed to be fitted with a 70 or 120 HP outboard motor.

FRB 600This 6.0m boat is equipped with self righting and can be sling launched with an appropriate release hook. The RIBO 600 has a wheel console with jockey seat, two other jockey seats, extra seating for a further two people and additional space for a full stretcher.

The FRB 600 is distinguished from the RIBO 600 by the addition of a single point lifting frame. It is delivered supplied with a 70 HP SOLAS approved outboard motor as standard and is further fitted with two 70 litre fuel tanks.

During 2011 Zodiac Solas was acquired by the Survitec Group and was renamed Survitec SAS and the product rebranded as SurvitecZodiac. The Survitec Group is world renowned for the innovative Lifesaving Equipment manufactured by the various group companies, the varied products range from Anti G suits for Military Fast Jet Pilots through to Marine Evacuation Systems for large passenger vessels.

When Maurice Mallet founded the original Zodiac company over 100 years ago it was at the forefront of innovation listing amongst its products the first inflatable boat and more recently large capacity evacuation systems for passenger vessels, all of which mixes perfectly with the Survitec group product portfolio.

Since its foundation, SurvitecZodiac brand has sought to master air and water through a boldly innovative approach. Tackling these tough basic elements has required a sense of purpose, a constant pioneering spirit and the will to succeed. These values are responsible for all the gains achieved in product safety and performance. They explain the high profile of the SurvitecZodiac name - the goodwill and trust it has built up over a century. They have shaped the emergence of a truly global yet human sized enterprise that remains on a steady growth path even through troubled times.

Life RaftsBy combining high characteristics, heavy duty materials and up to the minute design and manufacturing techniques with over 50 years of experience in inflatables, SurvitecZodiac has created the world’s most recently approved range of throw-over (SOLAS), davit launched (SOLAS) and Open Reversible Inflatable Life Rafts (O.R.I.L.) for a variety of maritime uses and can be used in conjunction with SurvitecZodiac Mini Slides.

Throw-over Life RaftsAn intensive R & D program ensures any new advances in life-saving technology or proposed changes in legislation are investigated and incorporated keeping SurvitecZodiac throw-over Life Rafts always one step ahead. An extensive range includes 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 37, 50, 100 and 150 person Life Rafts.

Davit Launched Life RaftsSpecially designed for use on passenger vessels and cruise ships where they are inflated at deck level in front of muster stations and then lowered by a davit with the passengers on board. An extensive range includes 12, 16, 20, 25, and 37 person Life Rafts.

M.O.R. Life RaftsThe SurvitecZodiac M.O.R. (Means of Rescue) is of a unique design. It has been specially developed to meet the latest requirements introduced for Roll On/Roll Off (RO/RO) passenger ships and is fully approved. Now mandatory on board RO/RO passenger ships, it provides a safe transfer of survivors from sea level to the deck of the ship in rescue operations.

O.R.I.L. / I.B.A. Life RaftsThese Life Rafts are used by passenger ship and fishing vessels on inland or coastal waters. O.R.I.L. are designed for immediate use, no matter which side up they inflate. An extensive range includes 4, 6, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, and 151 person Life Rafts depending on national rules.

AccessoriesDeck cradles, hydrostatic release, S.A.R.T. and E.P.I.R.B. are available for any of the above Life Rafts.

Evacuation Systems SurvitecZodiac SOLAS Marine Evacuation Systems are suitable for use between 1.5m and 25 metres freeboard.

SurvitecZodiac offer a Design, Supply, Installation Supervision, Commissioning and Crew Training Service for all evacuation systems. Customers simply provide an AutoCAD or PDF drawing of their vessel together with passenger and crew capacity and we will integrate the appropriate systems.

Our extensive range comprises the following products:

Low Evacuation HeightsThe SurvitecZodiac S.I.S. (Small Inflatable Slide) systems are ideal for evacuating vessels within 1.5 to 3.8 metre freeboards.

These systems are approved for use on I.M.O. High Speed Code as well as small passenger vessels. SurvitecZodiac S.I.S. systems have been developed for use in conjunction with 100-150 person Life Rafts or 100-150 person O.R.I.L.

There are two variants available:

Mini Slides and Life Rafts/O.R.I.L.Stowed near to the evacuation point. Life Rafts/O.R.I.L. are launched remotely, inflated and bowsed into position using either manual or automatic electric winches. A Mini Slide is then inflated and deployed into the Life Raft/O.R.I.L.

Evacuation Slide Systems (E.S.S.) The E.S.S. System is a Stowage Cassette which is integrated into the ship’s bulwark or side rails. Within the cassette is a large capacity Life Raft (100/150) / O.R.I.L. (100/151) and a Mini Slide. When deployment is initiated the Life Raft/O.R.I.L. inflates and Mini Slide is automatically inflated into the Life Raft. Once inflated the Life Raft/O.R.I.L. is bowsed to the ships side and is then ready for the evacuation to commence.

E.S.S. Auto A patented fully automated version of E.S.S. The deployment of an E.S.S. Auto system frees up members of the crew to assist in other areas of the evacuation such as marshalling the passengers. A simple to use electronic release button situated either on the vessel bridge or at a remote control point is used to deploy the system. Once activated, electric bowsing winches automatically operate to bowse the Life Raft securely into position. This hands free system is fully deployed in approximately one minute.

The Medium Height Inflatable System (M.I.S.) This Twin Track Inflatable Slide System is available for heights between 3.8 and 12.5 metres.

This system deploys at right angles to the vessel and the MIS Slide is packed together with either a 150 person Life Raft or 151 O.R.I.L. so when deployed and bowsed the Life Raft is available immediately for boarding, A second Life Raft/O.R.I.L. is available outboard of the receiving raft and is simply bowsed to the initial Life Raft to accomodate safe transfer. In sea trials of this system for the High Speed Code 350+ passengers were evacuated in less than seventeen minutes and 730+ passengers in 30 minutes for the Ro-Pax vessel code.

As with the S.I.S. systems automatic electric bowsing winches are available as an optional extra.

DBC Vertical Chutes The DBC Chute Systems are available in single and double track formats (dependent on flag state approval status) for use at heights up to 33 metres. The system comprises a vertical chute with a platform at the base. Throwover Life Rafts are connected via an interface to the receiving platform.

The chute and platform are contained in a housing on the evacuation deck. A simple pull handle automatically deploys the chute and inflates the receiving platform. Passengers and crew simply jump into the chute and their vertical descent is controlled via the engineered vertical descent control mechanism (Zig-Zag system).

With all SurvitecZodiac Evacuation Systems maintenance is available via our comprehensive world wide network of service stations.
