DESIGN DETAIL CHECKLIST 1. No. of Bedrooms 3 2. Expected Sewage Flow 1530L (337.5 Imp. Gal)

Note: (75 Imp. Gal or 340 L/person x no. of bedrooms x 1.5 persons/bedroom)

3. Additional High Capacity Fixtures Soaker tub (500L) = 320L (70.4 Imp. gal) Note: [(vol in L of tub – 340L)x2] 4. Total Design Volume 1850L (407 Imp. gal) 5. System Type Treatment Field 6. CSA or engineer approved tank concrete septic tank 7. Tank working capacity 3360 L (740 Imp gal) Note: tank sizing requirement under 1999 SOP was 400 Imp gal so this has changed for new code. 8. Effluent filter Yes 9. Effluent high level alarm Yes 10. Package treatment plant Yes Note: Must be NSF 40 certified plant and constitutes secondary treated effluent. 11. Distribution method (gravity or pressure) Pressure 12. Soil classification (soil texture) silty clay loam 13. Soil structure blocky 14. Soil grade 2 15. Soil loading rate (secondary treated effluent) 0.45 gal/day/ft2 16. Percolation rate (optional) 7 min/inch

Note: This is not used for sizing infiltration area in 2009 code and under 1999 SOP this value should never be <5 min/inch or >60 min/inch so the example value would be unreasonable given the soil type/structure.

17. Depth to groundwater (if <2.4 below ground surface) 1.8 m depth 18. Infiltrative area 905 ft2 Note: Total volume/soil loading rate

Note: This gives a total of 480 lineal ft of infiltration length, which exceeds the required amount and is acceptable.

23. Orifice sizing ¼ inch 24. Orifice spacing 2 ft 25. Distribution line (polyethylene or PVC water line) polyethylene 26. Distribution line diameter 2 inch 27. Distribution line length 40 ft 28. Pump flow rate 30 Imp. gal/minute 29. Pump head rating 70 ft of head
