Estimada Familia Parroquial:!!
"¡Él ha resucitado! ¡Él ha resucitado! "¡Esas palabras han hecho eco en siglos pasados! Es nuestra respuesta: Dios nos dio a su hijo uni-génito, para vivir por nosotros y morir por nosotros. Imagine una tumba vacía, las vestiduras de Jesús, imponentes en su pureza, dobladas donde había estado acostado. Él no está allí...Él ha resucita-do.!!
La Pascua es la base de nuestra fe católica, el día más grande del calendario litúrgico. Ahora, podemos creer que para nosotros hay vida después de la muerte. Sin el sacramento de la reconciliación y sin la oración, no hay conversación con Dios. Sin oración no po-demos pasar con el Señor resucitado de la muerte a la nueva vida, de las tinieblas a la Luz.!!
¡Este Domingo de Pascua, nos regocijamos! ¡celebramos! Reunámonos en nuestras iglesias, oremos, trabajemos juntos con paz, amor y humildad para crear una mejor comunidad católica. Nos unimos con otros para orar y unirnos en nuestra fe. Mostramos a las familias, a los niños, y especialmente a aquellos que se alejan de la sociedad, que hay esperanza. Esperanza en la oración, esperanza en la resurrección y en a vida. Esperanza que algún día estaremos libres del sufrimiento humano y del pecado y de las tribulaciones cotidi-anas y nos uniremos con nuestro Señor en el cielo. ¡Qué mejor manera para comenzar una nueva vida que el Domingo de Pascua! La primavera llena prados y campos con el florecimiento de lirios de Pascua y la interminable variedad de flores y de olores. ¡Estamos vivos y creemos!!!
La Misa del Domingo de Pascua es la ocasión para la que nos hemos estado preparando, durante toda la temporada de Cuaresma. Traiga a sus hijos, a sus familiares y a sus amigos, y únase a nosotros para la Misa. Traiga a un vecino, un hermano o hermana quien esté olvidado por la comunidad. Venga y únase a nosotros alrededor de la mesa de Nuestro Señor, Jesucristo.!!

Dear Parish Family:!
“He is risen! He is risen!” Those words have echoed for all of us in centuries past! It is our answer: God gave us his only begotten son, to live for us and to die for us. Envision an empty tomb, Jesus’ garments, stunning in their purity, lying folded where he had lain. He is not there…He is risen.!
Easter is the basis of our Catholic Faith, the greatest day of the liturgical calendar. Now, we can believe that there is life for us after death. Without the sacrament of reconciliation and prayer, there is no conversation with God. Without prayer we cannot move with the risen Lord from death to new life, from darkness to Light! !
This Easter Sunday, we rejoice! We celebrate! Let us gather in our churches, let us pray, let us work together with peace, love, and humility to create a better Catholic community. We join with other to pray and join us in our faith. We show families, children, and especially those shunned from society that there is hope. Hope in prayer, hope in the resurrection and the life. Hope that we will one day be free of human suffering and sin and daily tribulations and will be joined with our Lord in heaven. What better way to start a new life than Easter Sunday! Spring fills meadows and fields with the flowering of Easter lilies and the unending spectrum of flowers and scents. We are alive and we believe!!
Easter Sunday Mass is the occasion we have been preparing for, all through the Lenten season. Bring your children, your relatives, and your friends, and join us for the Mass. Bring a neighbor, a brother or sister who is forgotten by the community. Come and join us around the table of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.!
May your hearts be filled with joy and happiness as you celebrate with us. May you and your families have a blessed Easter. We, the priests and Deacons of St. Joseph, St. Mary Star of the Sea, and Our Lady of Grace look forward to welcoming you and praying with you.!

Wanted: Ministers of the Mass�As we enter the beautiful season of Easter, we invite you to consider joining our team of ministers.!Ministry of Lectors�These are members of our parish community who proclaim the Word of God with the reverence and dignity that glorifies God. They inspire the assembly to go forth and share the “Good News.” They also lead the assembly in the Prayers of the Faithful.!New Lectors are appointed by the Pastor. Initial and ongoing training is required, and is provided in English, as well as in Spanish. New and current Lectors are commissioned by the Pastor as needed.!Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion These are members of our parish community who distribute the Eucharist and Precious Blood during Mass. New and current Ministers are commis-sioned by the Pastor, as needed.!Altar Servers�These are members of our parish community who assist the priest in celebrating Sunday Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals, and special liturgical celebrations. Boys and girls in the 4th grade and above who have received First Holy Communion are invited to become Altar Servers. We also have a need for adults whose personal schedules might permit them to serve Masses during the week. If you’ve received your First Holy Community and regularly attend Mass, you are welcome to join this ministry. My Lenten Journey � 2017 �
“My Lenten Journey” builds on Matthew Kelly’s book, the Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic (available in the narthex area of the church). As I complete my Lenten Journey, I ask “How have I changed to live the life that more closely matches God’s plan for me? Am I the ‘the best version of myself?’ Am I the Game Changer God expects me to be?”!
Evangelization: The 4th Sign of a Dynamic Catholic!�
1.Understand and practice the three universal principles of discovering the best way to live.!
2.Share my special books and CDs with others, especially the children in my family.!
3.Understand and practice the “Win, Build, and Send” system to trans-form me into a Dynamic Catholic.!

In order to make sure that our spaces are kept in the best condition possible for anyone using them, each form is checked when it is handed in. Is your group or ministry using any of the rooms in the Parish Center, the Rectory, the Church, or even in Assumption Hall? Please make sure to complete the Facilities Usage Form for each meeting that you hold, and don’t forget to add the name of your meeting room in the “facility” space. ANNUAL WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS �All "Catholics of New London" are invited to support the 10th Annual Walk to End Homelessness on Sunday, April 23rd.! The walk starts at 1:00 pm at the Municipal Lot at Eugene O'Neill Drive and Golden Street.! !You can register online at www.nnhhc.org/walk � but remember to register as part of the team "Catholics of New London".! !There are registration forms at the back of the Church.! With great enthusiasm, we concluded the five sessions of V Encuentro, which helped us to prepare our souls and spirits for Holy Week. We received very positive feedback from what occurred during each session; it strengthened the catholic faith among the facilitators and members of each group. Furthermore, these sessions created an atmosphere of peace and unity among the parishioners of St. Mary. We encourage each member of St. Mary to continue to spread the good news of the gospel with every person they encounter in their day�to�day activities. In addition, we are so excited to share the news with everyone that the banner of V Encuentro was placed in the main entrance of our church. Also, we would like you to mark your calendars that the V Encuentro parish event is taking place on Saturday, June 10th from 8:30am to 3:00pm in Assumption Hall.� We would like to express our sincere gratitude with everyone who collaborated in the preparation of the gift baskets as well as with the sale of tickets for the drawings that continue to take place in our church to raise funds for the Parish Encuentro. Lastly, we would like to thank every parishioner who bought tickets to support this noble cause as we continue to raise funds for the main parish event in June.!!

Todos los "Católicos de New London" están invitados el doimngo 23 de abril a apoyar la 10º Caminata Anual por las personas que no tienen un hogar. La Caminata comienza a la 1:00 pm en el Lote Municipal en Eugene O'Neill Drive y en la calle Golden. !Puede registrarse en línea en www.nnhhc.org/walk � pero recuerde inscribirse como parte del equipo "Católicos de New London". Hay formularios de registro en la parte posterior de la Iglesia. El costo para registrarse como parte del equipo es de $12. Los niños menores de 12 años gratis. Si no puede caminar, patrocine a un miembro del equipo que pueda hacerlo. Las actividades y la inscripción en el lugar el 23 de abril comienzan al mediodía en el Lote Municipal. Ahí es donde usted entrega el dinero de sus esfuerzos de recaudación de fondos. Caminemos juntos como "católicos de New London" para ayudar a los que no tienen hogar.!

Con mucha alegría hemos concluido las cinco sesiones del V Encuentro, las cuales nos ayudaron a fortalecer nuestro espíritu para la Semana Santa. Hemos escuchado buenos informes de cada sesión y como, los facilitadores y miembros de cada grupo disfrutaron de una experiencia espiritual que ha servido para encontrar el camino de la fe católica y reavivar los ánimos a seguir primereando con cada persona que necesita escuchar el mensaje del Evangelio. También con gran gozo y regocijo ha sido puesto el letrero del V Encuentro en la entrada del vestíbulo de nuestra parroquia Santa María Estrella del Mar y está expuesto para todos los feligreses que deseen participar del gran evento parroquial que se aproxima el sábado 10 de junio desde las 8:30 am hasta las 3:00pm en el Salón Asunción. Aprovechamos esta oportunidad para agradecer a todas aquellas personas que han seguido participando en la preparación de canastas y ventas de boletos, como también a aquellos feligreses que han colaborado compran-do boletos en esta noble causa de recaudar fondos para las actividades del encuentro parroquial en junio.!!
