St. Michael’s Faith Formation

Children’s Liturgy of the Word: this program is offered on Sunday

during both Masses. Children 3-7 years old are welcome to join us each week

as we pray, read and explore the Sunday Gospel from a child’s viewpoint. Did

you know that Jesus told lots of stories when He was on earth as a way to

teach us? Jesus’ stories are called parables. A parable is a simple story that

tells a lesson. In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells a parable about Zacchaeus to

help teach us that God has a special love for those who are humble and mod-

est and poor. Jesus invites us to come with all of our flaws and sins to receive

His forgiveness and everlasting love.

Elementary Faith Formation: The elementary program is for students

in grades 1-5. We meet on Wednesday from 6:00- 7:30 pm.

Middle School Faith Formation: Grades 6, 7 and 8 will meet on Sun-

days in the Youth Room. Please note: starting November 3, Mass will be at

9:30am. Middle school will be from 10:45-12:15. Eighth grade Confirma-

tion students, sponsor and parents have a Rite of Enrollment Mass on

Nov. 10th at the 9:30am Mass.

High School Youth Ministry: See Cluster Page for information.

Have you considered St. Michael’s Pre-

school for your child? If not, you should!

Preschool meets on MWF from 8:45—

11:45 am. Your child must be 3 or 4 by October

1st, 2019. For more info, please call our Preschool

Director, Annette Lown at 616-384-4026.

I need you to pray for my hearing,” said Tommy.

prayed. When he was done, he asked,

“So how’s your hearing now?”

“I don’t know,” said Tommy.

“It isn’t until next Tuesday.”

Please Pray for our Engaged Couples

Lord God, the source of all love, the wise plan of your providence has brought these

young people together. As they prepare themselves for the sacrament of marriage and

pray for your grace, grant that, strengthened by your blessing, they may grow in their

respect for one another and cherish each other with a sincere love. We ask this

through Christ our Lord. Amen

Christ the Victim, we call out to you! Strengthen your

faithful to accept the mission placed before us, a mission

of holiness and truth. Inspire us to become advocates of

those who have been harmed. Grant us strength to fight

for justice. Impart to us courage so that we might forth-

rightly face the challenges to come. Raise up saints from

your Church, and grant us the grace to become the

saints you desire us to be. This we ask of You, who live

and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God,

forever and ever. Amen

Crochet or Knit?

Would you make a Healing Blanket? Suggested dimension is 28 in x 60 in.

This size folds in half as a lap blanket. It unfolds to cover the legs. An added

feature is being able to wear around the shoulders. This is a suggested size

only. Healing blankets are blessed by Fr. Ayub. They are given as a free gift to

homebound, recuperating, those hospitalized and those needing a touch of comfort. As

you stitch, say a prayer for the person, who will receive. In this way your handwork truly be-

comes a healing gift. You may bring your handwork to the parish at weekend Mass. There

is yarn available. Please call our parish office and leave a message, if you would like

yarn. If you know someone who would be comforted by receiving one, please leave a

message at the parish and we will get one to you.

Thank You… Prayer and Healing Blanket Outreach of St. Mary and St. Michael

Thank You ~ Schoenborn Family

The Ross Schoenborn family would like to sincerely thank every-

one for all of your prayers, contributions, kind words and sup-

port throughout the past few months. The benefit this past week-

end was beyond amazing and we can’t thank you enough. We are

truly blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives!

During 10:30 AM/11:00AM Mass.

November 3 In Todays Gospel from Luke, we hear

how a chance meeting with Jesus changes the life of a

man called Zacchaeus. Sometimes a person is described

as ‘a hopeless case’, meaning that they are beyond any

kind of help. Jesus never gives up hope because he knows

that the power of God’s love and forgiveness can

transform lives.
