New Parish Directory — SOON!

The Directory Committee is excited to announce that

we are ready to begin this very important project, so

that we will be able to include the new Parish Directo-

ry within the 175th Anniversary Time Capsule.

This week, a member will speak before Mass

to explain how to be sure that you/your family are in-

cluded in the Directory. An information and sign up

sheet will be handed out at that time.

Next weekend after all the Mass-

es, the committee will be in Grotto Hall

to schedule your appointment for the

photo session; it would be helpful if you

bring the signup sheet with you, to save

time. The Directory company needs the

September appointments to be filled be-

fore making October appointments. Sign-ups will al-

so be taken during the Ice Cream Social on August 14

in the school gym.

You can drop your signup sheet in the collec-

tion basket, mail it to the church office, or call Chris

Sullivan at 570-265-8354 to set up the appointment on

the day/time you prefer.

The 11th annual Lyle Williams Memorial Golf Tour-

nament, benefiting St. Agnes School, will be held on

Saturday, August 6th, 2016, at the Towanda Country

Club. The entry fee is $80 per player, which includes

coffee & donuts, greens fees, cart, lunch, and prizes.

Support is also needed in the form of hole sponsors;

the cost to sponsor a hole is $100. Non-golfing guests

are invited to attend the luncheon for $20 per person.

To become a hole sponsor or to register a four-

some, please call St. Agnes School at (570) 265-6803.

Single players may also register, and will be assigned

to a team. Thank you to Lynda Williams for her time

and efforts in organizing this yearly event.

Grotto 100th Anniversary / Ice Cream Social

The next Parish 175th Anniversary event will be on

Sunday, August 14, 2016 — to celebrate the the 100th

Anniversary of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes,

which is located on the grounds between the school

and the rectory. An ice cream social will follow the

re-dedication ceremony. Neighborhood friends are

welcome to join us there. More information will be

included in a future bulletin

Bradford County Pennsylvanians for Human Life

The Fair runs Mon.—Sat., July 25-239; the Booth will

be open 78 hours during that week. If you go to the

fair, stop by to view the Pro-life exhibits and litera-

ture, and speak to our parishioners or other volunteers

who are at the booth. If you want to help out with the

weekend of July 30-31, 2016, Rev. David Andrea, a

missionary priest of the Institute of the Incarnate

Word, will be here to celebrate the liturgy and to ask

for our support to the missions. Please welcome Fr.

Andrea to our parish.

Catholic Relief Services

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of

these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Mt

25:40). Today, we are reminded that Jesus identified

himself with our poorest brothers and sisters. The

Catholic Relief Services Collection serves Jesus in the

victims of human trafficking, those who suffer from

unjust laws, and those who need pastoral care and hu-

manitarian assistance across the globe. Through sup-

porting today’s collection, you help Jesus in dis-

guise. Please be generous. Find CRS collection enve-

lopes in the rear of the church; mark your name/

envelope number on it for contribution credit.

Child Care

A church parishioner is in need of child care in their

home for an eighteen-month old during school hours,

8 am to 3 pm for two days a week. Please call the fol-

lowing number (270-929-0772) for more information.

Feast of the Assumption

August 15 is the Feast of the Assumption of the

Blessed Virgin Mary; on a Monday this year, it is not

a holy day of obligation. For parishioners who would

like to observe this special Feast, the parish will offer

the usual Monday morning Mass at 8:30 am on Mon-

day, August 15, and additionally there will be a 5:30

pm Mass, to be followed by a light supper downstairs.
