As we celebrate during this beautiful Paschal season, let us once again show our Love of neighbor. Please join the AMNOS Ministry and the students of our St. Sophia Sunday School, in an attempt to fill a 5 ton truck with your donation of quality clothing which will be distributed to those less fortunate.
Conduct your own clothing drive at school, work or in your neighborhood. This, St. Sophia's 13th annual!, 5 TONS OF LOVE clothing drive will take place over the next four weeks.
Clothing may be dropped off at the St. Sophia Sunday school office. For more info please contact Eleni Yokas ([email protected]), Dean & Christina Peratsakis (818-351-0122 or [email protected]) or any one of our Sunday school teachers. Volunteers needed. Thank you.

PACK A BACKPACK FOR CHILDREN!
The Philoptohos Society will be collecting NEW backpacks for homeless children who pass through the Los Angeles Mission. On Sunday, July 31 after liturgy, join us in the Maniatakos Ballroom for lunch. Your ‘admission price’ into the luncheon will be one NEW backpack (or more if you want) - OR a monetary donation for the Mission. You may purchase backpacks for boys or girls, from Kindergarten through college age. A different choice, instead of a backpack, would be to donate items to put ‘into’ the backpacks, such as Kleenex packages, notebook paper, pencils or pens. (Please NO markers). Imagine the circumstances for children living on the streets, in abandoned buildings or alleys. Getting up every day and trying to focus on school is hard enough, let alone for someone who has no bed to sleep in, little food and struggling every day just to stay alive. If you have any questions, please contact Virginia Noyes at [email protected]. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! No donation is too small! We hope to see you at the luncheon!!
