Last week I went to Adelaide to attend an inoculation ceremony of the Chinese Business Network of South Australia (CBNSA). Every time I go on an official visit in another capital city I am keen to know more about the local Chinese community and over the years I have thus made some good connections in these cities around the country.

As we only live in one city in the country, we may not know much about the other capital cities being homes to many Chinese residents. As I grew up in Hong Kong all my life and connections were confined to Hong Kong; in that case Hong Kong could seem to be my whole world. So if I were born and raised up in Shanghai I might only know Shanghai but not any other place of the world.

Since four years ago, we have extended our Sameway publication to all major Australian capital cities. Through this we have enhanced the knowledge and understanding of Chinese on other communities Australia-wide, as a result this could help Chinese to get better connected and affiliated to the country as a whole. There are people who might first land in Sydney but eventually end up living in Melbourne. In such cases Sameway could offer them some ideas about living in the Melbourne community. People who want to start a business inter-state might also be able to do some good preparatory work through reading some tip-offs from weekly publication on the market niches in city living elsewhere. The information interchange could also bring upon opportunities of development or sharing of resources amongst various Chinese communities .

In April Sydney singer Winsggie held a concert rally here in Melbourne and had taken the opportunity to introduce the service and share her experience of a Sydney-based counselling organisation First Light Care. Sameway is looking forward to sharing her story with the Chinese communities in Adelaide and Brisbane as to make the service of First Light Care to more people in need. We are committed to bridging Chinese communities in different cities and we would be grateful to have your support on this vision.

I believe Chinese living in Australia should bear an Australia-wide vision in building a new home for us and for our next generation. Sameway is always ready to contribute.
