Please note that once you have registered, you will use the assigned username to access this site in future.Your e-mail address entered will be defaulted as your user name.

The following browsers are recommended by SAP for use with the SAP e-Recruiting system:

  Apple Safari Version 4.0 or higher,

  Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0 or higher,

  Firefox Version 3.6 or higher

If you use any other version or different browser and are not able to access the system, please switch to any

of the above recommended browser.

For personal security and to prevent illegal access to your profile, please always remember to click “Log off”

link before leaving the system, especially if you are using a public computer.

Most screens are opened and displayed in new windows. If you have suppressed the display of additional

windows with a popup blocker, you must deactivate this for this application.

How to register online

Registration

To apply for a position, you must register. Once registered, you will get access to the personal career pages.To do so, open the Methanol Chemicals Company’s careers website by either clicking on the “Careers – Apply

Online” link on the home page (www.chemanol.com) or typing the following URL into your browser:

Please complete the Registration Form. The fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory, and are necessary

for us to identify and contact you.

Please note that once you have registered, you will use the assigned username to access this site in future. Your

e-mail address entered will be defaulted as your user name.

The e-mail address that you enter must be unique to you, and should not belong to, or be used by other

people. Please re-type it in the “Repeat E-mail” field to ensure that you have not made any typographical

errors. Please read and “Check” the Data Privacy Statement which contains information about how

CHEMANOL wants to protect and use your personal data. It is not possible to register unless you have read

the data privacy statement and confirm that you have read it.

Once you have clicked “Register”, the system sends an e-mail with a link for confirming the e-mail address to

the address stored by you. The e-mail also contains a link to the Talent Warehouse and the user name (alias)

that you have to use to log on to the system.

Now login to your provided e-mail address to open the link sent to you by the system. When you open the e-

mail and you will use the confirmation link to confirm your e-mail address. In doing so, you have to observe

the validity period of the link.

NB: Each e-mail address will be allowed a maximum of 2 requests. A reminder will be send after 7 days if

 you have not verified your e-mail address. After 14 days, you request expire if you have not verified the

confirmation e-mail.

After confirming, you will be able to log on to the system with the assigned username and password and can

access your personal career pages.

Hints for registered users

Logging on to the Talent Warehouse

Once you have registered in our career website, you need not register again but login with the username andpassword you have provided. To do so, open CHEMANOL’s careers website by either clicking on the “Careers 

– Apply Online” link on the home page (www.chemanol.com) or typing the following URL into your browser:

The Careers page is displayed.

Click on button “Log in” to access your Career Pages.

The login screen is displayed.

Enter your user name and password entered during registering.

Click on “Logon”  .

The “Applicant Cockpit” is opened. 

Sometimes the system gives you a pop up message to warn you that you have an application that is still

“Draft” (incomplete) or you have not yet selected check box “Release Profile” and hence no recruiter canaccess your profile.

You can click on the link to release or complete your application.

Changing Password

If you would like to change your password, you will click on “Login” button to get the login screen.

Enter your user name and your password .

Click on “Change Password ”  link.

Enter your current password and your new password. Repeat your new password.

Choose Change.

The system checks your new password and saves it. From now on, you can log on using your new password

only. Please note that you can also change your password only ONCE A DAY.

Requesting an Alternative Password

If you have forgotten your username or password click on button “Login” to get the Logon screen.

Click on “Password Forgotten”  link.

The forgotten password screen opens.

Enter your user name and your e-mail address.

Click on “Request Password ”  button.

The system checks whether the user name and e-mail address are already registered and then sends an

alternative password to the e-mail address that you entered in your Personal Data. You can use the

alternative password to regain access to your personal career pages.

For security reasons, you should change the alternative password immediately once you have logged on

successfully.

How to create a profileTo apply for a vacancy online, you need to create an electronic résumé, complete with supporting

documentation and a cover letter. To help you do so easily, CHEMANOL has designed a wizard (an electronic

guide) that will enable you to create and submit your application in seven (7) simple steps:

Creating your application: an overview of the steps:

Button/Field Instruction/Description 

Personal Data This step (page) allows you to add your address and contact information. You

can also update this information if it has changed. You do not need to re-enter

data that you already entered when registering. If necessary, you enter links to

your Internet references such as social networks, blogs, personal homepage,

publications.

Education/Training This step (page) allows you to add and update your completed courses of

education and training details.

Work Experience This step (page) allows you to add and update your previous employment

relationships (Work Experiences).Qualifications This step (page) allows you to enter and/or update your competencies and

qualifications and assess their proficiency.

Preferences This step (page) allows you to tell us what type of job you would like or your

expectations of the new working relationship with our company.

Attachments This step (page) allows you to upload relevant attachments to your application

such as Degree certificates, Transcripts, Detailed Resume etc.

Overview and Release This step (page) allows you to review your application and submit (“Release”) it

to us. You read the data privacy statement carefully and accept it (if you haven’talready done so). Until you do so, we cannot access your application.

Step one: Personal data

Click on the “My Profile” tab if you are not already on overview page. The “My Profile” should be in bold print.

The “Candidate Profile” page will now be displayed. Once you have completed the information in each emptyfield, work your way through each step (page) in the wizard (see overview) to complete your application,

using this guide to help you. You can proceed to whichever step (page) you’d prefer by clicking the relevant

numerical step button at the top of the page, or by clicking the step button (which changes depending on

which step (page) you are on, at the bottom of the page).

The relevant step details that are displayed will have an orange colour in the wizard steps at the top of the

page.

Once you have completed updating this step (page), click on “Next Step”  to continue to the next

roadmap step. Note that fields that are marked with an asterisk are mandatory and have to be completed

before navigating away from this page. 

You have the possibility to specify further sources of personal information through with a section called

"Internet References" where you can:

 

Maintain the type of internet reference through a drop down menu (Examples: Social Network,business network, Publication, Blog, Homepage, Job Board, Private Interest, Other Internet

Reference),

  Key in a link referring to the corresponding webpage in a free text field,

  Check the manually maintained link to the webpage through an extra, system-generated link and

  Maintain an additional description of the content provided through this additional source.

Step two: Education/Training

The “Education/Training” step is now displayed. Click on “Add” to complete this section of the wizard. When

you have entered the necessary information, click on “Transfer” to save it. Click on “Add” for each new entry.

When you click on “Add” a new window opens up to add the new details. Click on “OK” once all the mandatory

fields are completed.

Step three: Work Experience

The “Work Experience” step is now displayed. If you have any work experience, this is where you need to

enter it. For fresh graduates this step might not be necessary. Click on the “Add” button to add each job you’ve

had individually. Remember to click on the “OK” button in the new window to save the information you ’veentered.

The “Add” button opens the new window.

Step four: Qualifications

The “Qualifications” step is now displayed. Here you enter your competencies and qualifications. In doing so,

you list your qualifications for each of the possible qualification groups and assess their proficiency.

Click on the “Add‟ button to enter your qualifications. Use the scroll bar and the tab buttons to find them.Note that you will need to tell us whether you have completed your qualifications by clicking on the

“Proficiency‟ drop-down. The dark blue colour of the tab button indicates which page you are on (within this

step). You can use the text box on each of these pages to enter any comments you may wish to make.

Click on “OK” to save the new or the updated information before proceeding to the next step.

that is displayed.

Step five: Preferences

The “Preferences” step is now displayed. Use this page to tell us what type of job you would like (which

industry, functional area and hierarchy?), your expectations of the new working relationship, interests,

desires, and expectations of the new job and the working location. Click on the “Add” button to enter your

answers individually, and use the drop-downs to select the appropriate response.

Interest Group

Click on the “Interest Group” drop-down list button and select arelevant Interest Group. By specifying an interest group, it is possible to

send you all information and employment opportunities that are connected

to this interest group.

Salary

Expectations Click on the “Salary Expectations” drop-down list

button and select “Salary Currency”

Contract Type Click on the “Contract Type” drop-down list button and select a relevant

Contract Type.

Willingness to Travel Enter your willingness to travel as a Yes/No response.

Willingness to RelocateClick on the “Willingness to Relocate” drop-down list button and select

the relevant menu item.

Description Enter your relevant interests, preferences and expectations.

Employment Preferences Add Industry, Functional Area and Hierarchy Level categories for the typeof job you’d like to have.

Once you have completed updating this step (page), click on “Next Step” to continue to the next

roadmap step.

Step six: Attachments

The “Attachments” step is now displayed. Complete your application by uploading any supporting documents

you would like to add, such as your identity document and copies of your qualifications. Click on “Add” to do

so individually, then “Browse” (as these documents are sourced from your computer, or a flash drive).

Once you have found the document on your computer/flash drive, highlight it and click “Open”, then enter the

title of the document into the “Document title” field, and choose the other values from the available drop-

down options.

Each document needs to be uploaded separately.

You can then click on the “Employment Opportunities” tab to browse our available job opportunities (or login

via the “Careers – Apply Online‟ link on CHEMANOL’s website

interested in you need to link your application to it.

filters (Keywords and Search Method) to refine your job search.

Click on the job posting hyperlink that you are interested in for further details.

This page can be printed (Click on “Print Preview” – “Print” for the PDF – see step “How to change personalsettings” to setup up your display as PDF) or closed by clicking on the “Close” button.Click on “Return to Search” to refine or extend your search criteria.

To apply for a job, go to “Apply Online” and Register/Login. Methanol Chemical Co . Employees must apply

internally through ESS Portal – Career and Job.

Click on the “Employment Opportunities” tab to activate the job search window.

Click on the “Start ” button to continue.

The Employment Opportunities - Search Criteria window is now displayed.

The “Application Wizard” window is now displayed.

Click on the “Display Job Posting” link to display the details of the advertised position. Once you have done so,

click on the “Continue” button to start the application wizard. “The Employment Opportunities -

Application Wizard” window is now displayed.

You can now update your application before submitting it for the position should you so wish. Work your way

through each step of the wizard to make sure that you have covered each page (steps 1 – 6) of your

application. Once you have done so, click on the “Questionnaire” or button on Qualifications to

open it. Some applications will not require you to complete a questionnaire and some applications willrequire completing more than a single questionnaire.

The “Questionnaire” step is now displayed.

You need to answer all the questions, which are related to the job you are applying for. You can click on the

“Reset‟ link to clear the questionnaire if you wish to re-enter responses. * denotes a mandatory question. You

will not be able to submit your application unless you enter a response against the question.

Click on the “Cover Letter” or to open the Cover Letter tab/step.

The “Cover Letter” step is now displayed.

Click on the “Application Source Type” drop-down list button to select and enter the relevant applicant source

type. Do the same for the “Application Source”. Enter a short application cover letter, as you need to provide a

more detailed explanation about why you are interested in the job. Click on the “Next Step”button to continue.

If you do not wish to submit your application because of some missing information and wish to submit later,

you can click on ‘Close’ link. System gives a warning and you can click on ‘Yes’ to proceed or ‘No’ to

cancel. The data will be saved and can be opened later.

The “Complete Application‟ step is displayed.

Click on the “Data Privacy Statement” link to display and familiarize yourself with CHEMANOL’s Data PrivacyStatement. The approval for the profile to be released “Check box” button is selected by default. You can

scroll down to display your profile. If required you can return to any wizard step to update a relevant area.

Click on the “Send Application Now” button if you are confident that your application

is correct and complete.

If you do not select the check box for releasing the profile, the system gives you a warning message.

Click “OK” to proceed or “Cancel” to go and change. 

When you click “OK”, the “Application Wizard” window is displayed.

A message is displayed confirming the application has been sent. Click on the “Close”  link to close the

window and return to the Job Posting screen.

NB: If you don’t see the above screen, it means our application is not completed and will not be available to the

recruiters for processing. 

When your application is successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation of receipt to your e-mail

address.

The “Job Search” window is now displayed. If you have applied for more than one job, you can click on the

“My Applications” tab. The window shows you the relevant application status for each job that you have

applied for.

How to delete/withdraw an applicationOpen your “Overview” window.

Click on link “My Applications”.

The “My Applications” window is displayed.

Click to select the “Job Posting Selection Box” button to highlight the application you would like to

delete/withdraw. Click on the “Delete/Withdraw” button to withdraw your application.

The “Withdraw Application” dialog box is displayed.

If you have selected a job posting with status “Draft”, the system will allow you to delete the completeapplication after confirming the below window by clicking “Yes”. 

If the application is already submitted and has status “In Process” the system automatically opens the below

screen for only withdrawing after confirming by clicking “Yes”  AS YOU CANNOT DELETE AN ALREADY

Click on “Yes” to continue.

A message confirming that your application for the selected job status is withdrawn is displayed. The status of

your application has now changed to Withdrawn.

If the status is “Draft” the entry will be completely deleted and will not be available in the list.

Display application information in "My Applications"

When accessing the view "My Applications" you can see all your applications which you have started to create

or have already sent.

Click on the “My Applications” link in the Overview tab.

The applications you have submitted are displayed.

Highlight the application you wish to display.

Click “Continue/Display Application” button to continue.

Depending on the status of the application you will get different screens to continue with your work.

For applications in status "Draft" the application wizard appears enabling you to continue working on your

existing incomplete application.

For applications with other status like "In Process", "To be Hired", "Not Selected" or "Withdrawn" an

overview page appears.

letter, your answers to questionnaires and an application source if maintained in “Read Only” mode.

How to maintain your personal settingsOpen the “Overview” window.

Click on the “Personal Settings” link to display the following window under “Candidate Profile”:

Click the “Date Format” drop-down list button to select your preferred “Date Format”.

You can also change the decimal notation, should you wish, by clicking on the “Decimal Notation” drop-down

list.

The “Preferred Language” option allows you to select the language in which you wish to send and receive

your correspondence regarding your application.

Once you have chosen, click the “Save” button to save the changes. The “Personal Settings” window

will then be displayed again, and a message indicating that the data has been saved will be displayed.

The recorded settings are used as of the next time you log on to the system.

Changing User NameYou can use this procedure to change your user name. Open the “Overview” window. 

CHEMANOL employees will not be able to change the username since it is maintained in the ECC system.

Click on link “Change User Name” to open the below window under “Candidate Profile”.

Enter the new user name.

Click on “Save” to save your entries. The next time you log on, you must use the new user name to log

on to the system.

Recommendation of Job Posting (Tell a Friend)

You can use this process to forward to other people/friends an interesting job posting that you found using

the search. The recipient receives an e-mail containing a link to the relevant job posting. The recipient candisplay the job posting via the link and then apply online if they are interested and meet the requirements.

Click on the “Employment Opportunities” tab to activate the job search window. 

The Job Search Criteria window is now displayed.

Click on the “Start” button to continue.

The Tell a Friend screen opens in a new window.

You can copy the link of the job posting from the Tell A Friend  window to your local e-mail program or you

can open the local e-mail program automatically by clicking on the corresponding link “Forward Employment

Opportunity via E-mail“ on the Tell A Friend  view.

Add additional information to the e-mail with the link to the employment opportunity and then send the

message to the recipient.

Your friend receives an e-mail. This includes, among other things, the text entered by you and the link to the

current job posting. Your friend uses the link to look at the job posting and apply if interested.

The “Save as Job Agent” views opens in a new window. Assign a name, define the frequency with which the job agent is run, activate the job agent, and save your

entries by clicking on “Save” button.

The system displays the list of all job agents already defined including the newly created one.

You can adjust at any time the frequency with which the job agent searches for employment opportunities

and the status of the job agent in the list. You then have to save your entries.

You can select the job agent and click on “Edit” to change the search parameters.

You can define up to a maximum of three job agents in the system.

Online Application of Unregistered CandidateAs an applicant without prior registration you will be able to set your logon data similar to the registration

process. This is necessary to ensure that you can follow up on yours application in case the application

process by whatever reason got interrupted. Furthermore, without prior registration, you get registered andtherefore need to verify the e-mail address.

Call the unregistered job search for external candidates to search for a vacancy (without registering/logging

in as a candidate), by clicking on the “Careers – Apply Online” link on the website(http://www.chemanol.com) or type the following URL into your browser:

http://www.chemanol.com/en/Default.aspx?pageid=556 and clicking on “Search for job” button.

Execute the job search by clicking on the ‘Start’ button.

Select the publication which you are interested in from the list and click ‘Apply’ for the selected job. A

application wizard opens in a new window.

Maintain all required fields on the registration screen of the application wizard.

Accept the data privacy statement.

Press “REGISTER and APPLY” button. 

Maintain all required application data in Personnel Data, Education/Training, Work Experience, Attachments,

Qualifications and Cover Letter as already discussed above using the application wizard.

Complete any questionnaires if available in the application wizard.

When you reach the “Complete Application” step, the following pop-up message is displayed for your

information.

verification e-mail.

FavoritesYou can create a list of favorites in which you store jobs that you have flagged as interesting. You can apply

for jobs directly from these job postings without searching again.

To search for jobs and mark them as favorites, click on the “Employment Opportunities” tab to activate thejob search window.

The Employment Opportunities - Search Criteria window is now displayed.

Click on the “Start” button to continue.

Click on the relevant job posting link to select it. The job posting overview window is now displayed.

If the employment opportunity is of particular interest highlight it from list and click on “Add Favorite“ 

.

The success message is displayed and a check box

under Favorite will be checked .

To display the list of jobs in your favorites, click on “Favorites” link  in the “Applicant Cockpit”.

To submit an application from here you select an entry and then continue by clicking on “Apply”.

Once you have applied you can remove the job from the list by selecting it and then clicking on “Delete”.
