Introduction

To access the new Derbyshire County Council SAP financial and ordering system from School sites, a

secure connection needs to be made over the internet from an authorised School computer to

Derbyshire County Council’s network. This secure connection is provided by a system called Juniper;

this in turn provides access to the SAP and OrderPoint applications. The SAP for Schools Juniper

Access Guide provides instructions on how to achieve this for new users.

This guide SAP for Schools Juniper Summer 2016 Update Guide has been developed to support

existing users of Juniper, SAP and Orderpoint to make the required changes in readiness for

Orderpoint upgrade scheduled for implementation and release on the 5 July 2016. This guide is

recommended for use immediately; users should not use Juniper from the 5th July unless they have

carried out these updates.

We recommend using the SAP for Schools Juniper Installation and Troubleshooting guide

V04 from the 5 July 2016 for all new implementations.

Note: this guide does not provide any instructions on how to use the SAP and OrderPoint applications

themselves. Screenshots provided in this document are taken from a computer running Windows 7

and Internet Explorer 11, you may see slight changes to dialog boxes on your computer if using

Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
