Towards quality

pharmacy week

outcomes

Spring feelSpring feelSpring feelSpring feel

It’s the change of the season, the nights are short

and there is something in the air, other than pollens,

allergex is flying out of the counter, the semester is

pretty much short. This semester is packed and

pharmaceutical chemistry sounds like accounting

and pharmacology is not too shy for a receptor.

Caffeine and insomnia in the same sentence for

pharmacy student is not a contra-indication unless a

bash, report and a laundry is a no time management

issue to you. This season (in a white coat) promises

to be full of sunny prospects and enriches within self

the true representation of a growing profession like

pharmacy.

Go out there and enjoy yourself, while you are at it

just don’t relax the rules, sandals and short pants

still don’t make it to the laboratory.

Currency in pharmacy is not about the fancy instant

reward or the ability to be in urgency, but it is that

one moment amongst many when a patient looks

you in the eye with confidence and you satisfy them

regardless of how sore your feet are.

Professional Coat Day: The Faculty of Pharmacy was invited to

spend the day in their Professional coats and a photograph was

taken of the Faculty

Comm engagement: RUPSA members visited the children at Little

Dragons Pre-school during Pharmacy week and spent the

afternoon playing games with them

ULAPS and pharmacists on the move

towards quality care- together

Pharmacy students are interacting with the

villagers from Mamotintane, advising them

about rational drug use, as well as answering

any questions about medications.

ULAPS joined Polokwane hospital in a march

around the hospital. This was a great

experience, a chance to also interact with

future colleagues.

TUTULAPS expresses how they worked

together towards quality care.

With all the visits the aim was to provide our

surrounding community on the correct use of

medication, the importance of our existence as

future pharmacists and the importance of the

engagement with other health care professionals

in working to the quality of health of our people.

Though we experienced some challenges here

and there, in general it was all a success. Says

Pharmacy Day

On Friday the 02nd

of September 2011 TUTLAPS

held their annual Pharmacy Day. A day made

special to celebrate the profession we are

working towards. We then had a SAAHIP

competition, were students were given case

studies to analyze and to give their comments on.

Car Show

When all was done we had a car show from Mercedes

Benz and Audi. Quite an inspiration for our pharmacist

in future to think of when studying, we all want to get

there ultimately

“We moordmoordmoordmoord the pharmacy open day”

says Sipho and Bongani using their own word (in bold)

to emphasize the success of the event.

Congratulations are in order to all health professionals

who made an effort make pharmacy week a success

and lets all work together towards quality care, 86400
