SRINAGAR, Oct 27: TheDepartment of Youth Servicesand Sports is hosting twoNational Level SportsChampionships in the month ofDecember this year and everyeffort will be made to make it asuccess.
This was stated by Ministerfor IT/TE/Youth Services andSports, Molvi Imran RazaAnsari while chairing the meet-ing of Senior Officers andOfficials of Youth Services andSports Department at CivilSecretariat here.
The meeting was attended byCommissioner Secretary forYouth Services & SportsDepartment Hilal Ahmad Parrayand Director Youth Services &Sports, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad.
The National Level eventsare being organized by theDepartment of Youth Services &
Sports under the aegis of SchoolGames Federation of India atJammu. Football tourney isbeing organized for under-17years' boys from December 11to December 17, 2017 while asthe National Level event inWushu for U-17 and U-19 boyswill commence from December19 to December 23, 2017.
Ansari while expressingutmost joy over the participationof the state Youth in the 62ndNational School Games said thatit really gives me immensepleasure to learn that 1090(boys) and 788 (Girls) have par-ticipated in various disciplinesof 62nd National School Games(NSG) and the achievements ofour young players in theseevents is something we allshould be proud of.
"In different National eventsJ&K state bagged 16 Gold, 30Silver and 72 bronze medalsduring 2016-17," Ansari said.

Ansh got the better of his rival3-0 by (51-22, 51-36, 53-40).

JAMMU, Oct. 27: KhalsaCricket Club entered into thesemifinals, while SinghAkhnoor Club registered con-vincing win over their rivals inthe ongoing 6th Eid-DiwaliMilan T20 Cricket Cup, beingplayed at KC School ground,HERE.
The tournament in which 12teams are participating is beingorganized jointly by SimulaClub, KC Sports Club and J&KSports Promoters Club.
Earlier, in first match,Khalsa Cricket Club defeatedNagrota Youngsters by 87 runs.
Batting first, Khalsa scored174 runs in the stipulated 20overs for loss of 3 wickets, withDhruv Mahajan (52), Bansi Lal(50) and Amandeep Singh (38)being the main scorers. Frombowling Side, Deep Singh andRahul Singh took 1 wicketeach.
Nagrota Youngsters, in replymade 87 runs in 20 overs, thuslost the match by 87 runs. NijuSingh (38), Rahul (20) andRahul Handoo (10) were themain scorers.
From Khalsa Club, SameerKhajuria, Sunny and Mohit took2 wickets each, while DhruvMahajan, Amandeep andAmarpreet claimed 1 wicketeach. Dhruv Mahajan wasdeclared as the man of thematch.
In another match, SinghAkhnoor defeated YWC by 3wickets.
Batting first, YWC scored139 runs for 8 wickets in 20overs with Sarthak (53), Munna(44) and Rohit (14) being themain scorers. From Singh Club,Sunil took 3 wickets, whileSham Singh Langeh and Vishaltook 2 wickets each.
In reply, Singh ClubAkhnoor chased the target in18.4 overs by losing 7 wickets towin the match by 3 wickets.Chandan scored 45 runs, whileManik and Jimmy contributed20 and 17 runs resepctively.From bowling side, Manoj took4 wickets, while Munna took 2wickets and Rahul claimed one.Chandan was adjudged as theman of the match.

In the final match, GDCUdhampur outplayed GDCHiranagar by (3-2) sets (26-24,25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 16-14).
Ruben Teji, Joy Pawar andDaleep Singh were the star per-formers of the match, whileSourav Sharma, Rishav Jasrotiaand Harith Sharma also playedwell for the GDC Hiranagar.

SAMBA, Oct 27: BhargavaCollege of Engineering andTechnology, Samba organisedtwo days workshop on roboticsprogramming in associationwith IIT- Bombay, here today.
This is the first of its kind ininstitution of Higher Learningin the State of Jammu andKashmir.
Introduction about roboticsthrough e-Yantra lab set up ini-tiative. Aim of workshop was tocreate eco-system at Colleges/Universities to teach embeddedsystem and robotics in effectiveway to catch up 10T based proj-ects.
Director MS Baloria in hiswelcome address mentionedabout the need of learningrobotics and embedded pro-gramming in higher education.
Prof. Ashok Sharma coordi-nator of workshop briefed theparticipants about need ofembedded system in the era ofsmart cities.

Manager e-Yantra from IIT-Bombay presented detailedoverview of entire project andbenefits related to same. Sheaddressed the Heads/Participants to set up labs forbetter teaching learning processin regards to 10T based aspect.
This workshop was veryuseful and about 20 Heads/Principal and 120 faculty mem-bers from reputed organizationattended the workshop.
The Chairman of BhargavaCollege of Engineering andTechnology Sh. PrakashSharma expressed his full sup-port for such initiatives and hedeclared that BCET Samba willset up first Robotics Lab inState and BCET will offeraccess to this lab for all acade-micians and when they needwithout any financial burden.
Managing Director of theCollege, Sanjeev Sharma alsothanked the participants forcoming to college for attendingthe Workshop.

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: In theongoing State FootballLeague-2017, one PremierDivision match was played atSynthetic Turf TRC betweenJ&K Police XI and MaharajaSports which ended in a 1-1draw.
In the closely contestedmatch, both the teams missedseveral scoring opportunities.Zaid opened account for theMaharaja Sports in 22ndminute of the match. Afterconceding a lead, Police XIplayers attacked the oppositegoalpost several times, butthey failed to send the ball intothe goal post. However, in 35thminute of the play, Tanveerscored an equaliser for thePolice team and the first halfended with score line reading1-1.
After that both the teamstried their best to take the lead,but failed to do so. In the lastminutes of the game, players
from both the sides stepped upthe attacks, but failed at thelast hurdle. When the refereeblew the final whistle the scoreline read 1-1. Zahid fromMaharaja Sports was decalaredas player of the match.
Meanwhile, the StateFootball League, a mega eventfirst of its kind in the history ofJ&K football, is going on atdifferent venues of the statewith full swing drawing hugecrowds to the football venues.More than 500 football teamsand clubs with over 12000players and over 1500 teamofficials are participating inthe mega event, the aim ofwhich is to unearth the hiddentalent across the State.
The event is being heldacross the 22 districts of thestate these days and is beingorganized by the Jammu andKashmir Football Association(JKFA) under the auspices ofJ&K State Sports Council onthe directions of All IndiaFootball Federation (AIFF).

JAMMU, Oct 27: In a press conference held by State Secretaryof National Students Union of India (NSUI), Ranjoot Singh flayedJ&K State Sports Council for its biased attitude in the allocationof funds in twin divisions of the State.
Mr Singh, who is also a national player of Judo said that as perthe RTI filed by a Congress leader it is found that 90% of theState's fund of sports has been allotted to Kashmir region, thusignoring Jammu.
He also flayed the Minister of Sports and the Secretary StateSports Council for spending time in Kashmir only and for theirindifferent treatment to Jammu.
Mr Singh was accompanied by Vikas Badoria and NishantGupta during Press Conference.

The championship is beingorganized by J&K JudoAssociation under the aegis ofJ&K State Sports Council &J&K Olympic Association.
About 100 Judokas from dif-ferent schools are taking part inthe Championship.
