Rustenburg – Op sosiale netwerke vandeesweek is met leedwese die sterftes van twee plaaslike mense aankondig. ‘n Ma, haar seun en sy meisie was onderweg op die R24, ou Johannesburg pad, toe die motor ongeluk plaasgevind het. Die ma, ‘n bekende inwoner van Rustenburg is op die toneel oorlede, en haar seun se meisie is omstreeks middernag in die hospitaal oorlede weens beserings opgedoen. Daar word verder ook berig dat daar op díe dag drie motor ongelukke op die R24 in die Rustenburg omgewing plaasgevind het. Die Polisie kon nie bereik word vir kommentaar nie. Ons betuig ons innige meegevoel aan die vriende en familie van die oorledenes.

Rustenburg – Anglo American Platinum with regret reported a loss of life at the Company’s operations. An employee at their Khuseleka shaft, Thembelani Mine, sustained injuries during a rock conveyance incident which oc-curred on Thursday, 31 March 2016. On Satur-day 9 July 2016, the employee succumbed to an infection while being treated for his injuries. Anglo American Platinum CEO, Chris Griffith,

said; “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the de-ceased and we are doing as much as we can to support them during this difficult time. An independent and comprehensive process is underway to make sure we fully understand the circumstances of the incident and that we learn from it in order to create a safer work environment for our employees.”

Rustenburg – Die Rustenburgse Polisie het ‘n geregtelike doodsondersoek geloods nadat die liggaam van ‘n 26-jarige man gevind is in sy voertuig, in ‘n oop veld naby Krokodilrivier Laan.Volgens Lt Kol Amanda Funani, polisiewoordvoerder, is die liggaam ontdek op Vrydag, 8 Julie 2016, omstreeks 18h30 in die ‘Little Margate’ area. Die oorsaak van die jongman se sterfte is nog nie vasgestel op die stadium nie, maar die Polisie ondersoek tans die saak.

Rustenburg – On Friday, 8 July 2016, road workers on the R24, close to the Cynthi-ana Hotel, discovered remains of a skeleton. The Police and the Forensic Unit was dispatched, who soon realised the skeleton was indeed an animal skeleton. At the time of going to press, they type of animal was not yet released. In an interview with Kiewiet Grindling, manager at the Cynthiana Hotel, he said that speculations of a human body was doing the rounds. “The road workers were making use of the road grader, to clean the road, when they discovered the remains of the skeleton. The Forensic Unit declared on scene that the skeleton was indeed that of an animal.”
