ear Friends,

A new year has just begun and I would like to take this

opportunity to extend my heartfelt wishes to each one of

you. There is renewed enthusiasm and vigor in the air as we

step into this brand new year. However, before we do so,

let’s take a moment to reflect upon our actions in the year

gone by. Let’s take this as our chance to learn from our past

mistakes and step into 2015 with increased wisdom.

While we have plans galore for Club Enerji in 2015, I want

to take this opportunity to share with you all of you that

we’ve had a great 2014; we undertook some really new

amd innovative initiatives and received some great

responses.

The 2014 edition of our annual ‘Oorja Samvardhan Divas’

was highly encouraging, to say the least. The families of

beloved employees joined in and helped us make the

programme a success. A step that we took with each one of

you – the torchbearers of our future – has now snowballed

into a movement that our employees have participated in it

too.

That aside, we’re overjoyed at the participation that we

received from many of you in our Maharally, numerous

other rallies, human chains and other initiatives. The mini

clubs have not just participated in such initiatives but have

come-up with innovative ways of spreading awareness and

engaging people in various ways to conserve energy. It will

only encourage us to do better in our future endeavors.

We intend to reach out to more people across geographies

and extend our presence on digital media. We will focus on

exciting, engaging and innovative ways to spread

awareness through our digital platforms. Hope you all take

active interest in all such endeavours and support us like you

have always done.

With the city finals now well behind us, we’re waiting

eagerly for the start of Energy-Q. Here’s wishing hordes of

good luck to each one of you participating. May the best

team win! I also want to add here that I am particularly

impressed by the efforts being put in by the students

towards making Energy-Quiz and Carnival a hit!

Warm Regards,

Anil Sardana

Oorja Samvardhan Divas

Club Enerji, Tata Power's nationwide energy conservation

movement, celebrated 'Oorja Samvardhan Divas' across twelve

locations to mark the commencement of National Energy

Conservation Week. Family members and spouses of the

Company's employees became the torch-bearers of Club Enerji's

efforts towards conservation, and educated students across

Mundra, Jojobera, Kalinganagar, Naraj Marthapur, Tiruldih,

Khopoli, Bhira, Bhivpuri, Lonavala and Mumbai on valuable

practices to conserve energy. The programme will be conducted

at Maithon and Haldia on December 18, covering more than 500

students across 4 schools.

The objective of the programme was to continue with its mission

of reaching out to the young minds and creating awareness on

the need to save our planet for a sustainable tomorrow. The

volunteers conducted the awareness sessions via videos and

PowerPoint presentations on the six golden rules of energy

conservation, and successfully sensitised 4782 students across

38 schools. A poster-making competition on the theme of 'Save

Energy, Save Power' was organised to instil a sense of

responsibility amongst the students towards building a

sustainable future. Students were also taught how to read the

electricity bill and were made to take a pledge towards

conservation of energy and resources. They proudly sported the

badges declaring them to be 'Energy Champs', which were

distributed by the volunteers, also known as 'Energy Mentors'. At

the end of the programme, certificates signed by Mr. Anil

Sardana, MD and CEO, Tata Power, were awarded to School

Principals for their cooperation and participation, and to winners

of the poster competitions.

The event in each school was concluded on a green note by the

participating students who planted saplings in the premises of

their schools. The importance of green cover and protecting our

life givers was imparted to the children and close to 1,000 trees

were planted by the students.

Rally on Waste Management

More than 100 students from Happy Model School, along with Tata Power's expert team of educators and volunteers, joined hands in the

rally to sensitise local communities about the repercussions of waste dumping on the environment and its impact on the ecosystem, as a

part of their Children's Day celebrations.

Cleanliness rally, skit and painting session

Mini Club of Little Flower School, Thane, in collaboration with Tata Power's Club Enerji, organised a Waste Management and cleanliness

drive as a part of Children's Day celebrations. The objective of this initiative was to communicate the significance of waste management to

the students as well as to impart knowledge on resource conservation. The team spread awareness through various interesting audio-

video presentations. Armed with banners and posters, more than 2171 students from the 5th to 10th standard participated in a cleanliness

drive in the neighboring areas, and sensitised the residents about the benefits of recycling through a skit.

The highlight of the event was a wall painting session where the children drew beautiful sketches of their view of a green and clean earth,

followed by a signature campaign where the participating students signed their names.
