Buckland Primary school helps save the environment by:

• We have fruity Thursday where we sell fruit and save the fruit skins.

• We have a big paper bank to recycle paper in.

• Every class does a litter pick each week.

• We have a gardening club to keep our ground nice and grow our own fruit and vegetables.

• People driving cars round the corner when they can easily walk.

• People wasting electricity by putting the TV on standby instead of turning them off.

• People leaving lights on when they don’t need to use them.

The Greenhouse Effect is where gasses such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide traps the sun’s energy in the earth’s atmosphere and does not let it escape causing the earth to heat up.
