SCATS Ramp Metering support:

• SI data is provided in ITS interface (SRMS only) Inclusion of VK and DS values for any type SI With a validated timestamp

• SCATS accepts an external dynamic maximum green request for On-Ramp Queue Response

Limits excessive green time when no discharge is possible Applies volume-based "gating“ between the current and upstream

intersection

New Licensing Model

• Standalone dongles (green ones) must be present all the time. This is the current operation and a random check is performed.

• Network dongles must be present during start-up for authentication. If backup dongle is provided, either of them enables the authentication.

If network dongles become unavailable after successful authentication, a grace period is applied;

• Colour code of services reported in Access, right-top corner, will be grey stating either central manager or region dongle is no longer accessible

• A system alarm will be raised

• Applications are allowed to run until 1 PM next working day!

New Licensing Model – cont’d

Unlimited network licences can be utilised as test-bed

• Test-beds must be configured as non-production server

• Non-production version of central manager will not have following functionalities;

Route pre-emption, Time Distance Diagram, Incident Management, ITS port, Messages, accept non-production region connections only

• Non-production version of Region will not have following functionalities;

ITS port, can only connect to non-production central manager

• An ITS application that sends more than 1100 bytes, crashes Central Manager

• Invalid input to Local (or Controller) Times would yield a deadlock in SCATS Access

• Link plan lock and trim is removed, monitor windows does not update immediately

• Link/Offset Plan dialogue: Changes are lost without warning

• Monitoring a site that is not communicating produces excessive updates which overrides user’s changes in PL0

• SCATS Flags (child dialogues) not updated when monitored site changed

• Change of phases, split plan, and walk plans are now logged by Site ID

• ITS interface – region name checking is now case insensitive

• Modem Servers settings is lost if region network port is zero

• VR24 should not allow setting Z3 flag – reserved VC >= 4

• Communications status not updated in 'Controller communications' dialogue

• The choice of HDLC or non-HDLC is overridden by SCATS

• SCATS clears split plan even though the user has locked the plan

• Special facilities dialogue: Usability issues with locks and trims

• Show full names of CE alarms in Access

• Terminology is reviewed!
