content, Frauds using electronic content, Violation of privacy rights, Cyber Bullying, Illegal recognition of electronic

transaction or signature, Fake ID.

SOCIAL NETWORK USED AS A TOOLS:

Ramu Incident: Rohingya Muslim protesters ran riot in country’s southeast on Saturday night in apparent retaliation for a picture of a burned Quran holy text that appeared on the Facebook social networking website.

BDR Mutiny: Facebook, blogs and other online sites were very active during BDR mutiny in February 2009.

No VAT on Education : Use Facebook's pages and groups features to communicate with students and parents.

revolution or facebook revolution as the use of modern technologies facilitated the communication and interaction between participants of political protests.

Active Users in Social Media Platforms– 2015

Statistic : 80% of the Social network users are young and their age between 18-30.

66% male. (Source: Brandwatch) There are 83 million fake profiles in fb.

20 minutes. (Source: Infodocket) A Facebook crime every 40 minutes:

From killings to grooming. Facebook was referenced in investigations of murder, rape, child sex offences, assault, kidnap, death threats, witness intimidation and fraud.

LAW IN BANGLADESH FOR PREVENTING SOCIAL NETWORK CRIME ICT Act 2006: In Bangladesh, the ICT Act of 2006

(amended as of 2013) deals with crimes committed using the Internet and social media. Section 57 of the Act can be used to arrest people for their offensive Social Network comments.

Cyber Security Act 2015: Along with the existing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act 2006, the government has decided to enact a cyber security law to ensure strict punishment for cyber crimes. The draft has increasing the punishment for cyber crime. A person guilty of cyber crime committed in Bangladesh affecting the country could be sentenced up to 14 years imprisonment or fined up to Tk 1 crore, or both.

LIMITATION OF LAW AND ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR PREVENTING SOCIAL NETWORK CRIME.

Knowledge gap is a big issue for investigating social network crime.

Social Network crime is borderless by nature. Terrorists are now actually using encryption

for transmission message, which means that law and enforce agency cannot wiretap the conversation in which the terrorists are discuss.

Social Network Service providers are not Interest to signing MOU with the Bangladesh Government.

HOW TO BREAKOUT THE LIMITATION:

Initiate a pilot project to educate our agency people and subsidies for research and filed works in university level.

Bound to Social network provider to store and process all personal data of Bangladesh citizens using databases located in Bangladesh.

Introduce a watch Dog Agency whose job is to actively monitoring the social network activities.

Stopping fake ID.
