Testing Program● What we have currently: On the following slides you will see

○ Map of testing sites currently available through county for all employees - 43 sites

○ Map of the school based clinic locations offering testing and children’s hospital locations available

now (phase one) for students in addition to the county sites above

● What we have planned:

○ Our testing program is planned to include all students, all staff, every two weeks on every campus

(ramping up to every campus in stages)

○ Goal is to open and stay open with this level of testing

○ UCSD Epidemiologist Dr. Natasha Martin’s model shows that testing should be based on virus

positivity rates, transmission rates, and other parameters. She recommends testing frequency be

tailored over time based on data sources. Our planning is based now on every 2 weeks, recognizing

this will vary.

When a student or staff member tests positive● Sample letters for positive cases were developed by Dr. Taras and are used for all

county schools:

○ Sample letter to positive person

○ Sample letter to non-close contacts

○ Sample letter to close contacts

● Information for school closure:

○ For any positive students or staff, the district will work with County Public Health Department to

identify close contacts and quarantine and exclude exposed contacts.

○ The district will work with County Public Health Department to determine if a classroom would

need to quarantine or a school will need to close. Generally, a school may need to close when:

■ Two or more cohorts/groups each have two or more students or staff members who have

been identified as COVID-19+ during a 14-day period, OR,

■ 5% or more of the teachers/student/staff at the school site have been identified as COVID-19+

within a 14-day period.
